Not wanting to be aware of your past is like going to school and not learning anything.Not concerning yourself with the future and making choices, as to what that will be, simply dooms one to repeat his past.
We learn from the past, we choose our future, we live and experience only the present.

the past is what makes us into the people who we will become tomorrow so the past is just as important as the future

Strange may it sound but knowing about the past or the future is counter productive in my opinion. Whatever has happened had already happened and it's waste of time to think about it but whatever is going to happen is going to happen anyway. So what's the point in worrying about it and ruining our Present? If we believe in Karma theory then we need to do the right things and let the future take care of itself.

I think it's more important to know about your past but not live in it because you aren't guaranteed the future.

Don't let your past or future steal your present! There is no past any more, and there is no future yet. We all have The Present only! Just this moment of eternity. Why don't we value it?

you do not know about the future or more so your own future but you do know about your past and you might be able to use your past to guide you to a bright future by adjusting a few things you did that you are able to alter now to be beneficial to you
