can anyone name some good 1984 present day parallels about big brother, totalitarianism, the thought police and all that? anything you can think of now that resembles anything in 1984

Ernst Zundel was deported from Canada to Germany. He was then tried, convicted and sentenced to 5-years in prison for thought crimes.

Author David Irving was tried and convicted in Austria for thought crimes. He has since been released.

Neither man has committed or advocated violence against anyone or group.
