I am looking for my God-mother. But I don't know her social, and she has married several times so I'm not certain of her last name. All I know is where she was born, her mother's name, that she had an adopted daughter, and that up until '99 she lived just outside of Oakland in California.
If someone could help I would be very appreciative. Even if someone could tell me how to find out if she's deceased. Right now I'm trying to do it without having to pay but if that's my only option then give me a listing of "no bull" sites.

Are animals 'programmed' like robots or do they 'know' what they're doing? But maybe the question is moot since we humans are also somewhat programmed ... although seemingly a little less than the other animals.

Let us say that I wish to photograph with a flash, or if not with a flash on my camera, with an aperture of 16f. Will it make any difference if I use a lens with aperture that can go as far as 1.2f compared with a flash that only can open to 5.6f....?

I have read a lot of Deavers books (especially the Lincoln Rhyme books) and really enjoy them. I like a good thriller, is there anyone else out there who reads them as no-one I know does? What do you think? Are there any other authors you could recommend to me on this basis. Thanks.

Dr. Oliver Wendall Holmes once laid out the dictum that the key to longevity was to have a chronic incurable disease and take good care of it. Even now, 150 years later, this works. If you have chronic arthritis, you are likely to take a certain amount of aspirin most days of your life, and this may reduce your chances of dropping dead from coronary thrombosis. When you are chronically ill, you are also, I suppose, less likely to drive an automobile, or climb ladders, or fall down the cellar stairs carrying books needing storage, or smoke too much, or drink a lot...
