I have read a lot of Deavers books (especially the Lincoln Rhyme books) and really enjoy them. I like a good thriller, is there anyone else out there who reads them as no-one I know does? What do you think? Are there any other authors you could recommend to me on this basis. Thanks.

Hey vwsal22, A Maidens Grave was really good, I also really like Blue Nowhere - one of my faves, makes me wonder if that type of thing is really possible. I love the Lincoln Rhyme ones coz its amazing how they use the forensic stuff.

I love the Lincoln Rhyme series. I also loved Blue Nowhere, but isn't it scary to think that could happen.

Jonathan Kellerman and his wife Faye Kellerman both write excellent books. Also, John Sandford. Each of these authors as their own hero.

With Jonathan Kellerman, his main character is Alex Delaware, a psychologist. He works closely with an L.A. Detective Milo Sturgess. They are a fantastic read.

His wife Faye's central character is detective Pete Decker. Once again, and excellent series of books.

John Sandford's central character is Lucas Davenport. Sandford's books always have the word ' Prey' within the title, but, I must warn you some of the content can be pretty gruesome, but, yet again, compulsive reading!

Then you could give James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell a close look. Both are absolutely excellent, Patterson's hero is a detective Alex Cross, and Patricia Cornwell's heroine is Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist.

With James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell, I would advise you read the books in order because, although, each book covers an individual plot, there is a thread which runs straight through each novel.

Dean Koontz is another excellent writer, and I would advise you look no further than The Watchers. This was the first book I read by Koontz and I can honestly say it is one of the best books I have ever read.

If you read all the books I have suggested, I guarantee all of your free time and evenings would be taken up for months to come.

I tried him over Xmas and thought he was brilliant! I've also read Kathy Reichs, the new series Bones is based on her books, but they are ten million times better than the series - the woman in it doesn't do the lead in the books any justice. You'll definately like them. For something a little different try Dean Koontz, he has some new ones about Frankenstien which are very interesting but a little 'out there'. Others of his are very good. Read Seize the Night and Fear Nothing, about a man who cannot go out in daylight - they are probably the best ones he has ever written.

I think they,re fab and haven't quite found any1 else who writes like him. Sue Grafton does a similar thing with her books about a private detective but they get quite repetetive n boring after a while. Have you read Deavers A Maidens Grave? I still think its the best so far.

Way to sick for my tastes, but my husband loves them. You may also enjoy Karin Slaughter (appropriately named from what I've see) who writes in a similar vein.
