a few lines of code in a computer program can be fatal but bearing in mind the analogy between brain and computer (not that remarkable as one was designed by the other to fulfil the same functions) surely a well constructed aphorism can do the same.. e.g. 'prevention is better than a cure' is obviously untrue in most cases but is taken as gospel.

This appears old but little-used. Has about a 5 inch tusk "arm." Inkwell is round and weighted, and remains upright no matter how the thing is moved about. Thus, no spillage. Says "Sterling" then the star/wing mark, then "2 30". Any ideas?
