Im reading a book (Simon and the oaks) which is set in Gothenburg during ww2. Theres a text in the book which says that while they were sitting in the kitchen they heard the anti aircraft gun going off and as they ran outside they saw a German plane crashing into the sea. This to doesnt seem to add up because Sweden was nutural during the war and surely wouldnt want to risk being invaded. Or am i wrong?

Yonks ago, before the age of tv, I was an avid reader. I was brought up on Treasure Island, Black Beauty, and the like.
My personal favourites were Tom Sawyer - who I could relate to; and Charles Dickins' Great Expectations - which I still go back to every couple of years.
Do kids still read classics - or only when it is part of the school corriculum?

challenge/setback for the only child? I doubt I will have any more children, and I just want to stay on top of any issues that may surface due to him not having anyone close to age around at all times... I was an only child and I had a lot of problems understanding that I wasnt an adult, and why I got SO much attention in some settings, and then was completely ignored in others... I just want to be aware of the problems before they are too big to handle! ya know? thanks to you all!

Is this something you are born with or can you develop it over time? I want to know what art lovers are actually thrilled by. What seperates Picasso from Monet and if I get some art work commissioned, how am I supposed to estimate it's value and pay the artist?

Thank you!

Why is it that you think that God or the creator answers some prayers and others aren't answered?I had questions tonight chatting with a friend.I had begged God so many times for things that I was so serious about ..prayed and prayed and ask.. with no answer.. and other times I prayed thinking it was a silly request but yet got a direct answer and also happened the way I prayed for..Why ?What is God so selective about answering prayers .Some of mine have been so senseless or basically meaningless yet answered when ask about issues in the world..people are still starving and dying and bad things are happening and the prayers there are not answered yet a simple prayer that was ask in a moment of selfishness was..Then I pray for something that would seem to be effortless then its not answered when it was and is more important than prayers in the past..Is God just tired of me praying or does God answer what is important to God..Just a thought.. ?

Since I can't see it I am starting to think it is a group of taboo's that if we speak them something strange will happen like alien's invading or dead people raising.
