You can't go wrong with becoming the best possible listener, so that you will be receptive to the real essence of whomever you meet. It sounds simple, but is not so simple to achieve. One has to make a decision to find something unique and interesting in any person, and put aside expectations. Then, as you develop being tuned to the hidden qualities that come from the timeless spirit of the soul, you will more and more be able to respond in a way that serves the good aspect of karma for yourself and others.
Also, use your conscience to apply your inate talents to whatever charity you can, be it care to animal and plant life or raising awareness of those around you, even if it takes sacrifice.
The whole takes both attention to small things around you and overview of the larger scheme of things. The cultivation of each sphere will enhance the other. Of course it is a lifetime accumulation, so perseverence and patience, even when the fates seem to conspire against, is very important. Fulfilling good karma doesn't always feel good.
Of course, searching within to be truthful with yourself about your assets and shortcomings is at the foundation. Be rewarded with confidence in your deeds motivated from your heart with the best of your individuality.

I've had bad things happen to me at the hands of another, and I always think, 'that's going to come back on them.' And when good things happen, I believe it's because I've tried to live a good life and help others, expand myself by learning and experiencing new things so I'm never totally the same from one day to the next. It's seems akin to a 'pay it forward' scenario. You accomplish some good and it stays out there for you and comes back later when you need it.

But the good you do has to come from the heart. That seems to count for a lot. Just like people who do something bad inadvertently would be different from someone who does wrongful things day in and day out.

Maybe that's why some people seem blessed from the getgo. They accumulated that much good karma in a previous life. Conversely, people that seem to have things going bad often are still working off past karma.

The Idea of karma is total bullshit that was promoted by Aryan invaders in order to justify racial hegemony over the indigenous Indian civilizations. Because that's what it was used for from its inception, that's the only practical application it can have today: justifying whatever level of existence that you're at now. Supposedly, if your life is a good one, then it must be good because of some good deeds that you've done in the past. And if your life is bad, it must be bad because of some bad deeds that you've done before. So you must deserve whatever harsh treatments comes your way. In most societies, religion was the original form of government. Even where religion and state were separate, the state was heavily influenced by religion. In early India, the concept of karma served to keep the populace under thumb. It maintains the staus quo by having people believed that they are where they are supposed to be.

HI, if you r negative to others directly and indirectly it will ultimatly put you urself on a negative footing for your whole life. Instead be accomodating within reason and always give them the benefit of the doubt if there is doubt. If not then be slow to anger as is our *. Karma is a good word for the unavoidable truth that what you do good in the eyes of people or in secret will be rewarded and the bad you do carries a cost that comes back to you. Thankfully the cost has been paid, for all throughout history but we need to be receptive and proactive to recieve it and move forwards in a positive manner in the knowledge that everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial and start to construct positive ontop of positive and not allowing our mistakes to hold us back. i cant answer as to the logistics of previous lives as i dont personally place importance on past lives as i see it its possible that u only get 1 chance and id rather live my life in the understanding of that possibility, if there is another so be it but if not - then what? keep searching and being proactive to make your life - its yours and it IS precious - if you search you will find - then the difficult part of accepting the truth begins but I believe it will set you free, regards

What you put out there, you get back.

A simple real world example: I saw a jerk in a sportscar tailgaiting, speeding, passing people. A little further up the road I saw him on the side of the road pulled over by a police cruiser. Tee hee. Justice.

Sometimes the results aren't so immediate. It may take many years to see rewards for good deeds or punishment for evil, but eventually what goes around comes around...

It works on a personal level as well. If you keep putting negative thoughts & words out there, then you draw negative things to yourself. If you believe & speak positive then you invite positive things to happen...it can be a challenge (especially for someone like me who tends to be negative) but it's important to try to hope for the best. What you believe becomes reality. Your words & ideas have power. You put them into the universe & the universe responds accordingly...so hope for the best & do good things. Hey, it can't hurt!

The 5 causes of emotional human suffering are: lies, stealing, abuse, betrayal and denial. Everything that hurts us goes back to one or more of these things. You can ensure positive karma by making sure that you don't do any of these 5. No white lies, no gossip, no yelling or other forms of abuse. Live without these 5 things and your karma will be: honesty, giving, caring, trust and acceptance (the positive opposites to the negatives) These are called the 10 Arms of Dharma.

Karma doesn't exist. I have seen people punished for doing the right thing and seen people rewarded for doing the wrong thing. Even if Karma did exist, you can't apply it practically. You have to do good things of their own sake for them to be truly good. If you do good because you expect a reward for it, it might be better than doing evil but, it's not really good. So Karma would not reward you for doing things if you only did them so that Karma would reward you. Just do good because it's the right thing to do.

Spiritual teachers generally say that any karma is a chain that binds you to worldliness, and what you want is not good karma but no karma.

How to achieve this? I guess the christian thing of letting god take over your life, and remove your sins(=karma) is the best answer i can think of right now.

you do the right thing, in your home life, at work and in your daily life style. you do not do "nice things" for others and expect to be rewarded or even acknowledged. you do this because that is who you are. don't let someone make you behave in ways you don't want to be, easier said than done but a good way to keep yourself in check. this works in your life now and any previous life you may have had. smile, someone may smile back.
