Totally.

Assuming that you have the basics - food, shelter, safety - the individual has to come to the realization that "happiness" does not consist of pursuing wealth or acquiring "toys."

Real happiness is being satisfied with who you are, what you do, what you believe, etc. When you are happy with yourself, it's difficult for things around you to significantly "bring you down."

Happiness is not an object and not something that can be persured. Its what we get when we are in balance with our deep self. unhappiness is reult of loosing who we are in the persurt of what we think we should be or what we think should have.

Does it depend on ourselves? Yes! the question more than anything is 'Are we looking in the right direction?' the answer really is about assessing your deep values.

of course it does!
it's all in the attitude.
someone could do something really nice for you, which should make you happy but if you choose not to appreciate it the happy doesn't happen.
mind you some ppl depend on their shrinks abilities to get the dosage right ...........then ourselves to remember to take it !!

Yes. Happiness is something that makes you feel content, and not making other people feeling content. So, of course, creating happiness depends on you.

Definitely. I think that no matter what happens, you can always smile and laugh. At least for me. When I fall, I laugh it off and get up because I don't want to make a scene. It makes me happy that I do not make a fool of myself ^^ Also, everytime someone complains, it's just emphasizing on the misery and makes it harder to shake it off.

Yes! Don't look for someone else to make you happy. The key to happiness is to love yourself, to accept & be happy with who you are.

Yes I think so we have a choice to do something or not. We make the final decision regardless of what anyone else says.
