Did you like the movie? I was gonna read the book, but after the movie I just saw a lot of badly executed cliche's. Eragon was a farm boy like luke skywalker. He was an abandoned child with mysterious parents, like Harry Potter. There were legends of great dragon riders, the return of which are mankind's only hope, like Dragonlance.

Sexy enchantress, old warrior with a secret, dark mysterious friend whom they don't know if they can trust? C'mon for all the hype, the book must have been better than this right?

If you were to make a bad painting, how would you paint it?

I would have a very hard time trying to paint a "bad painting" because I'm not sure if it even exists. Everyone has their own opinions on what painting is good and what is bad. Someone can paint something technically good but the subject is boring. Someone could paint something that is technically bad, but the subject is exciting. Then someone could paint it both technically bad and boring, but the piece could be known as abstract or be about the paint strokes itself and someone could find that appealing.

So, what do you think?

I am thinking of writing a book of my life experiences. My parents emigrated from India in the 1960s and so live by their Eastern traditions. I was born in England and went through the usual education system and am now a graduate. I have found it difficult at times to fit in both the eastern and western cultures. I would now like to write a book outlining my experience and difficulties I had in this, and I am sure, a lot of asian youngsters had the same difficulties as me and this book would prove to be an interesting read to them, in that they can relate it to their own difficulties.

The problem is that I know nothing about book writing. How do I go about it? How long would it take for the book to come on the 'market'? How do I make sure that I am using the proper English grammer? Is there a website that I can go to which outlines the steps involved in writing a book? Finally, how can I tell that my book will be profitable or is it just a gamble that I have to take?

I'm going to take a long trip, and I can't decide between these two books.
You can also suggest some classic alternatives. My favourite era is the 1930s-1950s. Just make sure it's thick ;)

The Gospel of Wealth, the concept of the Self-made Man, and Social Darwinism have been ssociated with late 19th century industrialization. The philosophies of the Gospel of Wealth, the Self-made Man and Social Darwinism, also dramatically impacted the development of the New South and the settlement of the Far West as extensively as they did in the industrializing region of the United States.
Talk about the truth of this statement.
