Tobacco companies are inevitably going to die, everyday new advances in health and technology prove that Tobacco is a very unhealthy substance and should be avoided.

There are a-lot of people that use it etc. It is bad and we could do without it but when a sizable portion of the VOTING POPLUACE says it is ok then it would be hard to make laws against it wouldn't it? I'm not saying that half of all americans smoke because it is not even close to that much but just think of how many would rush to vote if there were a "no more smoking at all period" referendum put up. The answer is that every damn smoker that can and some that are probably already dead, too.

It has nothing to do with the president. However, tobacco companies DO want to keep politicians on their side for many reasons but there is not any real concern for anyone that there will be no more cigarettes or smokers, much less but not none. They have been hurt in the wallet but they will probably never really go away anytime in the forseeable future.

Tobacco companies can die if only we have good governments from all over the world who can come to an agreement of laying aside the revenue (i.e moneytary profit) they are making from tobacco thereby stopping the manufacturing of tobacco. Besides this, all the health warnings on tobacco is meaningless to the smokers because as often as the urge to smoke comes and they see it in the market to buy, they will still smoke to quench that urge, but if they no longer see it, they stop smoking and i think that will bring a final death to tobacoo companies.

One of cigarette companies’ secret to survival is the addictive ingredient found in tobacco known as nicotine. When a person suddenly stops using cigarette he/ she would experience anxiety, restlessness, irritability and strong desire for nicotine. This would make him/her come back to smoking. Another secret of these tobacco companies is the image that they keep projecting to the people. As what commercials portray, smoking is cool. One would look powerful, sophisticated, and hip when she/ he has a cigarrette in his/her pocket. Image is everything for some that’s why they can easily be swayed by the strong message from these companies.

As long as people are addicted to tobacco and the industry employs millions and donates lots of money to politicians it will never go away. The government says it wants you to stop smoking, but does it really?? All those lawsuits and billion dollar judgements against big tobacco accomplished one thing - higher prices for cigarettes. And who pays?? The poor people thats who.
As long as the money keeps going, so will the cigarettes.

govt get taxes from the tobacco companies. they'll die only if the shrewd politicians stop ruling the world. people like you and me can only talk on the forums. the money makers are the culprits who don't give a damn about health issues.

i think they'll eventually die. I dont know about other places, but smoking isnt even cool anymore. it has in the past, but the most i ever see smoke is in movies and in vegas (reno too).

but they find ways to make money. they'll win whether your with them or not. You know all those "truth" commercials you see on tv? those are funded by tobacco companies. your fueling their support whether you like it or not.
