hello everyone. im trying to analyze a poem and im having some trouble with it. the song speaks a lot about the tide and the ocean and currents. it also says a little about the sea and tempests. what do these kinds of things usually represent in poetry??? i have to analyze this poem for school and if you could at least lead to me a website that would help me with this problem i would greatly appreciate and i would enjoy hearing your thoughts on this. thank you all so much :):):)

what i mean is that i see the whole human race as slaves to there own structure..all they do is trying to perpetuate themselves and pass the genetic code forward.withwe with direct actions or indirect thats all they basicly do and we strive for knowledge and longer lives to make ourselves more efficient and reproduce better and making the lives of our cildren better.
we are like the extension of our own dnathat has evolved in its race to become better into a form of a human being a very complex mechanism of reproduction and of defensive potential against harm.
what do u think of all this?

I'm doing an independent study project this month and plan to read a few books by Russian authors and learn to read more of the Cyrillic alphabet on the side. Anyhow, I would like some recommendations as Amazon isn't being terribly helpful. I currently have Lolita which I will read. I am not planning to read War and Peace as I would like to cover books that are not too lengthy. If it helps, I am also a freshman in college.
