i live in maryland. im not really sure about where you mean by eastern maryland. if you mean like, the east cost, like ocean city and on the other side of the bay, then i cant really help you. but i know that in baltimore, some community colleges have plays that people can audition for and come see and all. so, community colleges in your area might have plays too.

There are quite a few shows in the Baltimore area looking for actresses. For example, the Audrey Herman Spotlighters theatre is holding auditions on January 28th and 29th for their production of Larry Shue's "The Nerd," and Run of the Mill Theatre is holding auditions for their South African Play Festival (featuring two mainstage productions by Athol Fugard and his collaborators, as well as several staged readings of works by South African playwrights.)

In addition, the Baltimore Theatre Alliance will be holding area-wide auditions in February for several area theatres.
