Charles Willeford mentions an orthodox Jew's favourite brand of tuna fish - not kosher (no scales)! Ian Fleming seems to think that in Istanbul, the Golden Horn separates Europe from Asia. Can you think of similar examples?

Why must we provide truth if we have to swear to tell the truth. The whole process of swearing to tell the truth if ur gonna have to provide evidence for the truth is stupid. agree?

How do you interpret this poem?

Once as a patron of war
Attacked by power and greed
Life stolen
Taken away
Never to be returned
But the memory remains unserved.

Once as a believer
Prosecuted for uniqueness
Burning, flames engulfing,
Torture, life made worthless
Said to be no more than dirt
Yet faith remains.

Once as a pure one,
In a city of filth
Watching loved ones
Dying, rotting
Sitting helplessly
But the affected remained gone.

Once as a lover
Filled with joy and harmony
Closeness and fulfillment
Screaming, begging, reaching out
Losing grip, blackness,
Yet the truly loved remain forever protected

Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but people don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

If love is blind, how can we believe in love at first sight?
If you accidentally ate your own tongue, what would it taste like?
Is a hot car cool or is a cool car hot?
How come thaw and unthaw mean the same thing?

I once heard a quote from the Lord of the Rings novel saying "I Love not the warrior for his courage, the arrow for its straightness, nor the sword for its swiftness, what I do love it that which they defend" now I know that this is not completely correct and that is the reason for this post I would like to find out the correct quote and the character that said it
