The egg! Me and my friends made up our own thoery. Two different specied dinosaurs had sex, thus the female laying the egg, when it cracked, a mutated dinosaur came out - the chicken!
Because let's not forgot, birds are part dinosaurs.

The egg is most likely to have come first, but chickens evolved originally from the first single-celled living organism, just like the rest of us. The first chicken-egg was apparently laid by a red junglefowl in South East Asia.
