Full of illustrations of mice with creepy, huge, saucer eyes, involving a mouse and his friends/family building a rocket ship and going to the moon because of the hearsay moon-cheese. Full page illustrations, young reading level... I read it in elementary school many, many times, but I can't remember the name!

Help!

I'm sure this is going to sound stupid to you, but I want to know just how many people actually believe that dinosaurs existed.
P.S. Please make your answer simple, I don't need to be told how stupid this question is.

We are just finishing Huck Finn and I'm looking for our next bed time book.

My boy's a little genius. He read tom sawyer on his own, but the language in Finn had too many wierd spellings so I'm reading it "Eehs gynne git" = He's going to get I don't want him to learn those spellings!!!

Back to Eragon, I figure the names are beyond his reading capacity, so I'd be reading it. I'm most intersted in whether or not the text is too graphic or too long winded for a child???

I'd considered tolkien of harry potter, and believe tolkien may still be a bit wordy for him so I'm saving that and I've not read the potter books myself, but I'm sure he'd love that - but Eragon might be more my style.

Any insight is appreciated. Just trying to do the best by my boys

When I was a kid I read a book that was all about the science and mythology about dragons. They even said how a biological bieng could breath fire. There was also a section that described a dragon as a "flying brick" and explained how it is not by the wings alone that a dragon flies.
Does anybody know the title and author?

When I was in grade school (like 25 years ago), we had a teacher who would read us books. She would read us a chapter or two a day, so I rather think they were probably "young adults" books. The plot was a group of Aleutian Island Indians were hunting on an island. Something happened and they rushed onto their boats to leave, leaving a young girl and perhaps her little brother behind. I believe the brother died, leaving the girl alone. She fended for herself for quite some time. She befriended a wolf or perhaps just made a truce with it to coexist (not like a Disney movie would have her befriend an animal!). She was later rescued and brought into civilization and she never fit in well. I believe all her people from her tribe had been killed. Any ideas what book this is? Was it a real story?
