It is always easier doing a report on a book that YOU have ENJOYED reading. Pick a genre: classic love stories; spy action tales; detective or sleuth "who dunnits"; science fiction; biographies; sword & sorcery; etc. You don't give your age, so it is difficult to advise you, but depending on your age/the grade you are in/for what purpose you must write the report, you should rather not tackle anything too lengthy (so don't tackle the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy unless you are an avid fan - yet!) - rather keep it short and concentrate on writing a good report even on a story which is short and seemingly boring to other readers!

A book you might like as well as your teachers would be Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It's one of the books which transcended through time (as well as 1984 by George Orwell). It talks about a future where all men are created through labs and they are assigned a place since they are born in society. Very troubling and mystic book which makes you think. There is a lot of moral and scientific analysis you can do with this book. It's a classic. Hope you like it :)

Your age, gender, and year of school would have to be known for one to be able to offer a variety of recommendations. Regardless of your age you could read Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, To Kill a Mockingbird, So Big, Show Boat just to name a few.
