How many of you have read the Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind, and what do you think of the series if you have? I am seeking honest opinions of the story and philosophy, not publication information. Thanks!

I don't believe evil must exist for good to exist. Let us imagine that there is a possible world in which the only existent is God. God (according to the Judeo-Christian tradition) is wholly good: evil is
neither coextensive nor coterminous with God (please overlook the issue of temporality or atemporality vis-a-vis God for now). In this possible world, it seems that one could say that good exists. But would evil obtain in a possible world wherein (a holy) God is the only (possible) existent? In what way could evil obtain in such a possible world, granting the premises? If only good obtained in this world and evil did not obtain, would it not be true to say that good could exist without the concomitant existence of evil (in this case)? If what I am proposing is logically possible, then it is not necessarily true (maybe it is even untrue) that one needs evil in order for good to exist.

In about an hour, I am trying out for my high school's performance of Suesical the Musical. They WANT us to sing a song that's in Suessical, (they even did a workshop on Tues. so we could learn them) but that is a bad idea because then they only see you as the character you tried out for, and if it wasn't what they are looking for, they only see you as 'not that character' instead of 'how about that character?'. What type of song should I sing? Jazzy, brassy, something pretty, what? I don't know any of the songs or characters.

The person auditioning us is being really unproffesional and bragging about this freshman who has done proffesional stuff, sings at weddings, &c and she personally knows her. Isn't that proffesional? I don't stand a good chance. Any suggestions on how to calm my nerves?

And now, I've been so worried, that I grabbed a comfort food: Mac&cheese. Now should I drink lemonade or honey, or what would be good for my voice?

Every year, my local community puts on a performance, where the locals are encouraged to put together small acts in a friendly competition for prizes. Last year, my next-door neighbor won by belching the Star Spangled Banner.

My wife and I would like to win and we're thinking of doing a rendition of the 1812 Overture. Only problem is that we don't have a cannon, and I really don't think the city would want us to fire off shots if we did. Instead, we were thinking of lighting off my flatulance in tune with the music, giving a nice booming sound alond with an impressive light show. Any suggestions on how to pull this off?

I work mostly with acrylics and watercolor, but a long time ago (probably 11 or 12 years back), I received a gift set of oil paints from a relative for Christmas. I was pretty young back then, and mom was afraid our house didn't have good ventilation and that I'd get it on her furniture or something, so I never did open them.

I found that same, unopened gift set again when we moved to a new house just recently. I've painted with oils before and really like them, but they're so expensive. The gift set is Windor & Newton, so it's obviously good quality, but very old. Could I still use these, or will they have deteriorated too much by now?

By pseudoscience I mean stuff like homeopathy, astrology and (I know I'm going to get angry answers about this) creationism.

My Friend often forgets what is he saying , and hurt me by saying rude words , I have pointed out his way of talking some times but there is no change in his attitude, Some Time I feel He is not able to digest that I am at higher position then he is, he used to be smarter in our childhood , but no time is same ever.. and today earn more.I always try to take care that he don't get hurt but he aways speak raw, If I don't talk at all then he assume I feel vanity, now I want to answe his scarstic comment but don't know how, so that he understand that how do he hurt others by his comments , and he never realize that he did say wrong , never he feel sorry.

How can he realize his mistakes.
