and if it did, did Fleetwood, 10 miles north of Blackpool? if not, what was the main port in that area of britain?

Yes, as a small village,situated in the approximate area of what is now Gynn Square, Fleetwood at this time was a small fishing village with a small ammount of salt mining(the museum there is worth a visit)
