'm not maligning her or anything but i've read some not so old fantasy books that have harry potter elements in them. example is brothers of the dragon published 1993. in that book the dragon wailed a river when her master died. in book 6 of harry potter, the phoenix wailed unconsolably too when dumbledore died. in that same book, ghosts can interact with people.jk rowling's books have ghost interacting with people on a daily basis. is this coincidence? i love the style of jk rowling. but i think she borrows extensively from already published materials. what do u think?

I have written some stories for FanFiction.net, but most people I meet don't write. If anyone out there does, or is interested in reading some of my work, IM or e-mail me.

P.S. I have a forum dedicated to writers, gamers, and the like.
It's located at: clix.to/midnighthaven
Enjoy!

...and you had to chose one person to sit in the seat next to you, knowing that neither of you would survive, who would that one person be? Why?

Don't be a hero and try to say that you wouldn't chose anyone. The only rule of this game is that you have to pick someone.

I am trying to paint my white canvas shoes, however I am not sure if I should use acrylic (which I already have) or fork out some money on fabric paint, as it is advised.

Many have talked about acrylic mediums, but I am not sure what they are and what they are for.

Thank you for your help. :)

I'm writing a romance-type novel and I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on how I can find a romance critique group to work with? I was with a more generic group, which was fine except none of the other members wrote romance or contemporary-type stuff (they tended to have problems with the sex and my use of language).

Ok, I'm 27 and just found out that my great grandmother was born on a reservation we think in Oklahoma. When she was a child a church took her and adopted her out to a Mexican family. A comman practice back then. Is there a way to get information on her and find which tribe she belonged to? Maybe a website? My dad's uncle still lives on a reservation but my family said I don't want to contact him. We believe she was Apache. Thanks

Vedantic problem here. The only thing I can find (like Descartes) with a definite ontological status is my own consciousness. Since I cannot assign any definite ontological status to anything else without bringing in other beliefs (even if reasonable), is it even possible to find a relationship between consciousness and it's contents? Until I can demonstrate something else existing, is it not premature to try to relate "it" to consciosuness? I realize that asking my question subtlely contradicts its basis, but please put that aside.

I need to define my terms?
What about dead people that have thoroughly decomposed or already been cremated?
For this question, let's assume "dead people" includes everyone who has ever died (since humankind first emerged from the primordial category), no matter what eventually happened to the body. Where could I find research on this question?
Disclaimer: This question was already asked on Yahoo-Answers, but the answers were not cogent. I'm asking the question again, for I desire cogent answers.
Please, thank you.

I am trying to figure out if I can put a charcoal pencil in someone's desk in a play set in 1897. I found out mass-manufactured yellow pencils came out around 1875, but this play is set in the West (northern Utah) where I assume people would not necessarily get rid of older pencils right away. The character in the play is well-off financially and has a silver desk set on his desk as well, and modern pencils would be okay to include. I need the softer charcoal pencil for a plot point. What do you think?
