I'm writing a romance-type novel and I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on how I can find a romance critique group to work with? I was with a more generic group, which was fine except none of the other members wrote romance or contemporary-type stuff (they tended to have problems with the sex and my use of language).

I am also a romance writer. You can join my critique group, although we have writers of every genre. I always love when fellow romance novelist join!

We are an exclusive group of serious writers who help each other with line-by-line edits, not nice-nice sewing circle comments. We actually CRITIQUE! LOL

When joining a writer's workshop, make sure you join a private one, and not one that the work can be seen publicly. This is an open invitation to e-pirates looking to steal your work.

At our private group, we are selective of our members, but you sound like a good fit. Apply at the link below and I will send you an application. (We don't ask personal questions, we just want to be sure only serious writers are allowed in so all of our members copyright is protected.)

Unfortunately, I am not a fan of Romance BUT the best help on the web for me has come from SF/Fantasy groups on yahoo. I will guarantee there is a critiquing Romance yahoo group that is popular and active. I belong to several SF groups on yahoo and all of them are pretty excellent.

There is a group called Romance Writers of America. They have a website: check it out and see if there's a local chapter near you.

I've attended a meeting in order to write a local newspaper column about it. Also went to a seminar at Barnes/Noble where a number of romance authors spoke about and signed copies of their books.

have you ever tried asking why no person will critique your paintings? Will they critique others, or are you the only one offering feedback. you're able to desire to get your self right into a team it is attracted to offering effective feedback.

I've been a member for nearly 4 years and they have critique groups for every genre. You can also create your own if you don't find what you want.

No I am sorry but I don't know of any - but try letting your friends read it. That's what I do - I let friends and family members read what I have written - they are 'mostly' great critique-rs!@
