absolutely. It's very important in life to be able to differentiate between what we know and can prove and what we take on faith. It is also important to develop critical thinking skills so that we can evaluate various situations and recognize right/wrong truth/lies, foolishness/wisdom etc. IMO there is no such thing as too much knowledge, and there is no "dumb" question. However, willful ignorance is intolerable to me - it's like putting your fingers in your ears and saying LALALA just because something challenges your framework. Live out of the box!

We do have a duty to question our beliefs when they fly in the face of common sense. Leaders who ask you to follow them blindly are hiding something, beliefs that ask you to operate with blinders on are afraid of truth rather than encouraging of it, anything that asks for acceptance without evidence it's our right and duty to question. We may not agree with the conclusions we come to, but we will end up with understanding of how we got there.
