I just graduated highschool and am considering to be an art major. My perception of the artist is just of a social deviant who attempts to be deep, but comes off as being superficial. I don't want to become like that. I don't really admire others' works, but I enjoy painting. I'm not deeply passionate about it though, but I recognize painting as my greatest talent. Any advice.

I have a Sony DSC-R1 camera, plenty of memory sticks, and Abode Photoshop CS2. I have lots of experience in taking photos for personal use, but how do I break into the business side of photography? I want to do weddings, parties, events, etc.

I'm an amature calligrapher and have not had a chance to take classes with a master yet. I have used many different kinds of paper, with varying results, but none satisfactory to me. I know the paper has to have a smooth surface, preferrably made from cotton not wood. Beyond that I cannot find any info on the web.
