I was wondering about the health and safety aspect because raku is low fired and I'm sure eggs absorb "stuff" through their shells. Does the amount of time come into this? Glazes don't have lead in anymore, but there are plenty of other harmful elements.

The battle of Hastings was fought in the year 1066 between William Duke of Normandy and Edward King of England. England lost the battle and it's King and so William became King whose Kingdom not only included England but his duchy of Normandy in France. This led to much latter fighting as known as the 100 years war.
