I was wondering about the health and safety aspect because raku is low fired and I'm sure eggs absorb "stuff" through their shells. Does the amount of time come into this? Glazes don't have lead in anymore, but there are plenty of other harmful elements.

As long as there isn't any water in the bowl with the eggs, you have nothing to worry about, Just make sure to keep them refrigerated.
The eggs can not extract harmful elements from the dry surface into their dry shells, you need a liquid of some kind in the bowl if there is to be any kind of transfer

I would not keep any food products in any raku type ceramics. The glazes for raku are usually toxic and do contain lead. And yes glazes do still contain lead.
