Simple, becoz God created them that way for us different people to know they are Oriental people from China or other oriental people. Just like why african people have large and gray lips. I think u know the answer but u just forgot to realize or simply not aware of it. In other words, The reason why God made us different people whether race, color, nationality, appearance is for the purpose of identification so that we can easily learn to know each other..Imagine all people in the world looks the same. Wouldnt that be wierd?..Think girl!!

Evolution baby, It all depends on what the body needed for the envioroment it was in and natural selection. The enviroment produced the need for smaller openings and natural selection where the ones with similar eyes were considered prettier to each other and the odd ones were cast out back to the prehistoric man.

It comes down to genes on our relative DNA strands. A specific gene, in fact, defines the shape and fold of flesh over/around the eye. Asians have a variety of this gene that only occasionally arises in Western eyes though you can see it in native/aboriginal eyes in North & South America. You can also see evidence of it in the eyes of people hailing from certain parts of the former Soviet Union.

Rather I will ask why are your eyes different from those of the chinese people. As the number of chinese looking people are almost then half then how they look like you..

Genetics! Because they have a third eyelid. In cosmetic surgery when oriental women choose to "look" like the western woman this is what surgeons remove to open the eyelid.

see, their eyes are native. they are original. some associate those type of eyes as asians. but not really.. im an asian, and i dont have chinese-like eyes. it's dominant in them. unlike me, i live in the philippines, philippines has many conquerors, see, one of those are americans, and also the spaniards(spanish), that's why we have many different looks, but one culture. :D

it's not only the Chinese, but the Korean's, Japanese, Nepalese also who have the slanted eyes.

it is different due to climatic conditions and latitude and longitude bases of the country.
the more we move eastwards and hilly areas,the changes increases .
