the first major adventure became the signing of the assertion, the second one became the signing of the structure - without those 2 events our us of a as all of us comprehend it does no longer exist. The third major adventure became the Union winning the conflict of Gettysburg - the defeat of the Confederacy reunited the U. S.. The fourth became the bombing of Pearl Harbor - it drew us jointly as a us of a and became the initiating of the U. S. starting to be a real large capacity. The fifth is the moon touchdown which gave the U. S. and the international a desire for the following day and likewise presented alongside very much of latest technologies. i comprehend that many human beings sense that the tragedy of 9/11 will qualify for this question yet i trust that it really is merely too modern-day of an adventure to entice close if it would want to have replaced our historic previous critically. If any between the above pronounced events had no longer occured we does no longer be as fortunate or as greater as we are at this very second. We also would have lost a number of what makes us American.

Like the person said above, if the Norwegian King Hadrada and Tostig had not invaded the north, King Harold would've had a larger army to meet William at Hastings. Thanks to their invasion, Harold's army was weakened and tired from their march back to the south to meet the Norman threat.
The second event was the favorable winds in the English channel, without them, Duke William would've still been twittling his thumbs in Normandy.
Both these events occurred in 1066 and changed the history of Europe by causing the defeat of the last Anglo-Saxon king.

The Norman conquest of England was the conquest of the Kingdom of England by William the Conqueror (Duke of Normandy), in 1066 at the Battle of Hastings and the subsequent Norman control of England. It is an important watershed in English history for a number of reasons. It tied England more closely with Continental Europe and away from Scandinavian influence, created one of the most powerful monarchies in Europe, created the most sophisticated governmental system in Europe, changed the English language and culture, and set the stage for a long future of English-French conflict. It remains the last successful military conquest of England.
this close to your answer as well :-)

I know that the battle of Hastings is generally considered the most important event of 1066...but consider that that event would not have taken place if King Harold had not defeated the Vikings at Stamford Bridge....I think this event is largely overlooked, this also changed the history of Europe.

William fought against Harold II not Edward. Why post unless you know your facts.
