i am depressed, lonely with no real friends, and feeling really low at the moment in life. Ive had alot of downfalls in 2007 and the latest one is just breaking up with my ex girlfriend, it was rather complicated so i wouldnt like to go into detail. But when i hear shes going to a party etc. i suffer from the happiness she will get. And its been like this with all exs. I know a few friends who i know seem happy in life and comparing myself to them. I feel jealous and envy their happiness. Honestly i cant remember the last time i was really happy. Lifes been a real struggle for me and ive never been as happy as i want. I want to stop suffering from other peoples happiness because it seems to affect my way of life.

Yesterday around noon the vet called to say that our 11 year old labrador retriever had 2 tumors, one in the esophagus, another by the lungs. We knew he was suffering and that by the hour he was getting worst. So yesterday around 4:30 he was put down. he was my best friend, had him since i was 10.

So I was just wondering, my birthdays tomorrow and I am so depressed. I cant stop crying. But is there anything I can do on my birthday or how can I enjoy the day without crying?

Mine isn't typical. It's midspine, at the level of my mid-sternum. And, speaking of my sternum, if I slump for more than 30 seconds, there's increasing discomfort, to the point of being painful, and then when I straighten up, my sternum clicks and I have relief. So, I have to remain straight upright, and I believe this adds to the pain in my back. In a chair and in bed, I need to prop something at my mid-back or on my side to assist with the posture. I use a plastic bottle in my chair, and in bed I use 2 tennis balls in a sock. This helps some.

The osteopath pushed and pulled me. The MD saw nothing on an x-ray, and suggested motrin. Haven't tried a chiropractor, although I'm not opposed.

I'm just wondering if others have this. All my google searches turn up info on lower back pain, and upper back/shoulder pain, but I've never seen my symptoms. Anybody else have this? More importantly, did you get fixed?
