I'm looking to start a hobby in my spare time. I have tons of summer ones, but no good winter activities I like and I live in Chicago.

Can anyone suggest some (hopefully adventurous) hobbies for a city-dweller?

Does anybody know of a device that you can plug into an ordinary ethernet cable so that the product the ethernet cable is connected to on the other end can get internet access?
Like I just bought a Playstation 3 and the wireless doesn't seem to be working. I can however connect to the internet with a cable. The cable is unconveniently long though. So I am looking for a device that I can just plug into the ethernet cable so my ps3 will get internet access through a wire which is wireless.
Sorry that my description isn't the best but it's hard to describe.

Picture on my 2 year old 13" TV blew out last night. I have sound but no picture. I can still play VHS on it, but the picture is in black and white when I do, no color! Kind of funny. Anyway, I am looking to replace it with an 18" or under TV and would preferably like to buy one tonight. I just use the TV to watch the news in the morning and at night, and watch an occasional DVD, so I don't need anything super great. I can't afford much anyway. Would like something that's not too deep because it has to sit on top of my dresser which is only 15" deep.

What type/brand of TV should I get, and where is the best place to purchase? I will go to any store except Wal-Mart. :)

Thank you to those that have answered thus far. My cat is about 1 1/2 years old so i don't think it's old age setting in. I live alone and there is no abuse. In fact, she has a wonderful life (i think). She has a few beds, i buy her toys, top of the line cat food and i am very gentle with her. Every day i giver her a fresh bowl of food and water. I clean her litter box often and i have 2 fish tanks which she use to love to sit on the couch or bed and watch them swim. Fortunately she didn't try to get them/ She just liked watching them. She is always purring and isn't scared of me.

Her bizarre behavior began a few weeks ago. Since the behavior has changed so dramatically, i became worried. That is why i've taken her to the vet twice. She had always been friendly, jumping on the furniture, cabinets, counter etc. and now she just hides. I really think she fell because she is scared to go on the bed, couch etc.
