I think it is in Acts about not eating the blood or letting the blood drain from the meat before eating it. Then there is the save the fat for Me (God). So, originally we were not?

After the Great Flood in Genesis, God lifted the prohibition on humans eating animal flesh. Prior to that, humans were not supposed to eat meat.

Scientists agree that early homonid species were vegetarians.

I agree with leviticus. this is the wrong section for a question such as this, unless you're a creationist. then I suppose science would be an dirty word, LOL!

But because I am such a good sport, I will give you a "Christian" and a scientific answer:

Christian: God first commanded people to eat only plants. However, after the flood, God allowed the eating of meat:

"Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it." (Genesis 9:3-4)

The development of modern man is a direct result of our eating of meat, fish, shellfish, etc. High protein levels in these foods helped the development of our brains. Plus look at how our eyes evolved. Front facing, stereoscopic vision, seeing colors. Humans are definite hunters.

I don't think so. Adam and Eve were vegetarians, G-d made humans able to survive perfectly without eating meat, and it is said that when the messiah comes and we are living in a utopia, we'll all be vegetarian again.

Peace

No. We originally ate fruit, nuts, and grains. Vegetables and meat came after the flood. Truth be told, the original diet is still the best.

Yes, our teeth are designed for eating meat, and also our eyes are in the front of our heads (a telling feature of carnivores).

Genesis 1:29  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

GOD bless

I agree with the person who said omnivoures. We have canine teeth which are for eating meat, but our molars are more for grinding things up. So we eat meat and plants.

Ask in the science section, it is more relevant to answer this question by studying the human teeth and digestive tract than by consulting some fictitious book.
