I tried factoring it since it was in quadratic form and got:

(r-7)(r-7)

and then found the roots to both be r=7, but in the back of the book it shows the answers to be r=2 and r=7. What did I do wrong?

I was interested in becoming a child care provider through CCIS. where i would get paid through the state. my question was whether or not I set the pay or if they will only give me a certain amount of money. the child is a infant and I will watch him for 6 days a week from 7-5 and it is my nephew.

I've just recently become interested in this issue/idea. Im a struggling college student and from the little bit that I've read about the fair tax, and the very basic knowledge I've aquired, it would seem to me that the fair tax has tremendous merit and perhaps would actually be more "fair" -as its namesake presupposes. I was wondering if anyone could briefly present both sides of the debate (pros-cons) and then tell me what you believe and why? thanks.

It's on the internet, but no one in news (papers/TV) is touching the story that Edwards had an affair and the woman is pregnant. It is in the Enquirer today, but don't discount that rag. They deal in scandal, but they have been right more times than wrong.

I am not anti-Edwards, just trying to figure it out. The silence is deafening, odd for the media, which thrives on scandal!

Unless you are completely naive you have heard that some strippers offer "vip" services in the back rooms of some establishments. Would that not be considered prostitution and make them and anyone associated with them a whore? Just curious because in this modern day era of sexual self promotion and debauchery I thought this would be relevant.

I feel certain that ANYONE who has ever been shot by a 9mm complained about it because it wasn't a .45 or a 10mm.... , you'd know their are plenty of 9mm rounds with PROVEN ballistics that equal and surpass the 40sw round, and come very close to equalling the .45 acp's energy displacement. Just because you might not like a certain caliber DOES NOT mean it's ineffective, it simply means you don't like the round. In a combat situation, or self defense scenario, your average distance is going to be less than 21 feet(7 yards) a solid torso shot with a "wimpy" 9mm will put you down just as fast as a 40sw,.45acp or 10mm will. The germans developed the 9mm parabellum( means for war) during ww2, the countless dead GI's killed by the 9mm apparently didn't think the 9mm is ineffective.
What do you think?

ANALYSIS : WAHHABISM
For more than two centuries, Wahhabism has been Saudi Arabia's dominant faith. It is an austere form of Islam that insists on a literal interpretation of the Koran. Strict Wahhabis believe that all those who don't practice their form of Islam are heathens and enemies. Critics say that Wahhabism's rigidity has led it to misinterpret and distort Islam, pointing to extremists such as Osama bin Laden and the Taliban. Wahhabism's explosive growth began in the 1970s when Saudi charities started funding Wahhabi schools (madrassas) and mosques from Islamabad to Culver City, California.

With people attending parties for the holidays, it is inevitable that a smoker will be attending.

As the host/hostess of the party, are you prepared to protect your other guests by asking this person to smoke outside (hiding any ashtrays)?

Some smokers think they have the "right" to smoke in the presence of others, they do not. They don't have the right to harm another health, and it has been proven that second hand smoke is harmful to those nearby.

How do you handle smokers?

If Obama was a white guy running for president would Oprah be supporting him as she is now? The USA has just been through a cataclysmic presidential administration. Are we voting for a new president because he is a celebrity favorite, or because he has the maturity, the foresight, access to the mental reference library running through his/her blood, and the stamina and will power to pursue the kind of resolution that this country desperately needs to clean up the past? Obama is awesome but he is inexperienced. Celebrity support from Oprah could be creating more problems for our country by distracting people from reality. Politicians are not holy people, they are administrators of justice. We need a politician who is adept at seeing the bigger picture, able to look beyond the surface, understands how cultural differences create variances in consciousness and how people understand reality-- and then arbitrate a solution. That takes experience.

I was walking through the mall the other day and this lady about mid 30-ish had her three daughters with her. And their names were outstandingly uncomman. But Rhythm was the most uncommon..... the other two were Eden and Romy. I just got bumfoozled when I heard it. But I kind of thought it was adorable too. But anyways.... lol!
