If Obama was a white guy running for president would Oprah be supporting him as she is now? The USA has just been through a cataclysmic presidential administration. Are we voting for a new president because he is a celebrity favorite, or because he has the maturity, the foresight, access to the mental reference library running through his/her blood, and the stamina and will power to pursue the kind of resolution that this country desperately needs to clean up the past? Obama is awesome but he is inexperienced. Celebrity support from Oprah could be creating more problems for our country by distracting people from reality. Politicians are not holy people, they are administrators of justice. We need a politician who is adept at seeing the bigger picture, able to look beyond the surface, understands how cultural differences create variances in consciousness and how people understand reality-- and then arbitrate a solution. That takes experience.

No most definitely not. It is also my understanding that some of her most dedicated fans have voiced there dislike for her alligning herself with ANY politician, not just Obama.

I sincerely don't believe that Oprah's choice is based on his skin color. I sincerely believe that she thinks he can bring positive change to a country that desperately needs it.

And I don't agree with you that the ability to arbitrate, or the ability to see the big picture, takes experience. I think it takes common sense, and a sincere interest in hearing all sides of the story before making a decision. I know a lot of people in business who have these skills, but have less experience than others who don't.

Also, from where I'm sitting, GWB doesn't have these skills, and he has a full term as POTUS behind him, so I think he's the perfect example of how experience doesn't really help. As far as I can tell, it's something that either you're born with, or you're taught by your parents.

I completely agree with you that the candidate you have described would make an excellent president. I certainly hope that we can find that candidate!

Probably Oprah would support Obama in any case--his viewsmost closely coincide with hers.

Note, however--its not Oprah, or Obama, or the Democrats, who are focusing on the color of his skin. Theonly peoplle who are doing that are the conservatives--and a tiny minority of Democrats. And in every single case--get past whatever polite wordsthey are using and it boils down to this: the only people who think the color if his skin is imortant are someredneck white trash.

Note that every candidate--EVERY one--seeks and gets celebrity endorsements.Yet these racist scum are complaining ONLY about a black person endorsing another black person. Why aren't they posting the same compliaint about Chuck Norris?

Just more hypocrisy from the neoconservatives.

She might support a caucasian but I don't think she'd actively campaign for him. She could support Hillary just because she's a woman but she hasn't.

And I don't care who celebrities back. Fact- A celebrity backer is a negative to me.

No.

Why didn't she endorse any caucasians in the past in that case?

Also, why wouldn't she be excited a women is running and vote for Hillary?

Probably not, but I am just guessing she wouldn't considering she never has endorsed a candidate before, at least as far as I know. It seems kinda odd all the sudden she is endorsing.
