Let's say I want to divide a rope 100 meters long into 25 parts. Each part must have a unique length but the sum of all parts must still be 100 meters.
2 cases are of interest to me:
case 1: i dont care to know or set the size of any parts as long as they sum up to 100 meters and the rate of change should not change from one part to the next (linear?).
case 2: I want to be able to set the size of the biggest part AND the size of the smallest part, both these 2 parts together should not be more than 50 meters or half the total of 100 meters and all the 25 parts together should of course still sum up to 100 meters. In this case the solution should not be linear.
It seems to me reminiscent of some financial formula like npv but I can't figure it out. Help!

Many schools, especially high schools, are giving out free condoms to reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies in the country. However, is this a positive action or a negative one that is just an "invitation to have sex?" Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but prove your case.

this is kinda a long story but i'll make it short..a month ago i purchased a sidekick 2 online from a 17 year old girl(it was through myspace, yes i know i shouldnt have). i trusted her because she had a "shop" site and had positive feedback from several people. i sent her $60 through paypal. basically i never recieved anything and finally after i told her i was going to send her to court she sent me some verizon phone with gross videos of her doing things to some guy! well i told her i want my money back and she said she would send it but never did. me being smart i had screen shot every single message, from day 1 and saved it to my computer. i looked up her dad's name in the white pages and found her address. i sent her a message saying that i have it (i was never rude or said a curse word) so its not like she can just try and get out of giving my money back. now her dad wants to sue me just for looking up their address! can they do that after she scammed me and i have all the proof?

as long as you don't file, you haven't broken any laws. once you file, you enter into an agreement to pay. the US supreme court ruled in 1991 that our labor was our personal property and we exchange it equally in exchange for pay. the 16th amendment recquires only those who "profit or gains" to be taxed. the vast majority of americans aren't recquire to pay income taxes. they outlawed slavery in 1864.

this is why the irs threaten so hard and then simply settle out of court. THEY DON'T WANT IT TO GO TO COURT because they will lose in court. the supreme court has already set precedence.

We are living in a brand new home with three bedrooms in the basement.

It is FREEZING down there

Each room has one vent -- including the large family room area. All the vents are open.

I realize that basements always run cooler and yes, its winter and thats what happens, but the cold seems too extreme.

Any helpful suggestions as to why its so cold and how we can improve the warmth circulation.

An old friend of mine who also posts on here got a bit annoyed by another friend of mine, who is a preacher for the Church of God. They had the average atheist/theist go 'round and my preacher buddy said "You must have brain damage if you can't see that god exists". My other friend smiled and said "I have a 7mm bullet in my head, so what's your excuse for talking to imaginary friends?". For some silly reason, my preacher friend got offended, and I had to step in and tell them both to drop it. Why does anyone, regardless of beliefs, make wise cracks and then get offended when their target retaliates?

i liked this guy and he asked me out. we went to homecoming together and i didn't feel a spark. then he waited 3 wks to talk to me-and then he asked me out. i said that we should be friends.
then over the whole summer i felt like i wanted to be with him, but i knew that we couldn't b/c he was going off to college and trying to get over me.
we're still friends, and i'm seeing him this week since he's visiting. how could i get this somewhat resolved?
i want to ask something like "why did you wait 3 wks to ask me out?" randomly. how would u react?
