actually the Suns can compete with the Spurs and they are there level. Spurs fans are goin to use Tony Parker as an excuse. If they use him as an excuse y can't the Suns use Amare and Diaw as an excuse in game 5 the Spurs only beat the Suns by 3 points and there is no way Amare and Diaw would have score 3 points together.

They would have scored way more than that.

Not a chance until they improve that horendous DEF they cannot compete with the spurs . They barely beat them last night with an ailing duncan and no Parker. Just imagine what it would have been like if those players were healthy!! They have no chance in hell. and Nash is overrated thats y he got his teeth knocked out Ha Ha

If they can continue to improve their defense, then yes, I think they could. I also think its ridiculous to be thinking about this now, because its only mid-December. Playoffs are so far away, and anything can happen between now and then. A lot of people are picking the Spurs again this year, but what happens if Duncan or Parker blow out a knee? Or maybe one of their players gets into some sort of legal trouble, or just get injured in some other way? The same could happen to any player at any time, so its kind of ridiculous to think that far into the future.

However, I do think the Suns are one of the best teams in the league, and its very possible that this is their year. I think Nash is very determined and that determination should help the team. Plus, if they manage to get the highest ranking in the West, they can avoid Dallas/SA until the WCF (assuming those three will be the top ranked, which isn't actually a guarantee...). That would certainly help...

They have a chance. Suns have talent and has a better roster/team this year compared to previous years. Nash is playing another MVP type season. Marion & Stoudomire are playing as an all star. The key to success is the playoff performance of (Boris Diaw, Raja Bell, Grant Hill & Leandro Barbosa).

Yes Boston Celtics & San Antonio Spurs are the two team that the Suns must face & beat in order to win the championship.

But if they continue to improve their defense & continue to play Suns basketball. They have a legit chance to win it all.

LOL HELL NO

Their window of opportunity has closed

Spurs are stronger and the rest of the west is also much stronger

Suns have no answer inside for big guys like Duncan or Al Jefferson or Bynum which will be their downfall

They made the worst offense in the league (Miami heat) look like a scoring machine AT PHOENIX while losing a game to them

This team will be a pereniall playoff contender, they'll never win the NBA finals as long as they have soft weak guys like Nash and Amare around who can't play good defense.

I love the suns they're a great team but I think they need to improve their defense. I think it's gonna be between Suns or Mavericks, they both deserve it, both great teams. The spurs will never repeat their championship, if the Mavs wouldn't have lost in the 1st round last year, they would have swept them off the court in the first 4 games.

I think they'll go far, but not win the championship. Defense wins championships, and last I checked there wasn't any "D" in the Phoenix Suns.

Boston Bandwagoners: Sorry, but you have to get through the Detroit Pistons to win the 'ship, and that isn't going to happen this year. Enjoy your first home loss of the year on Wednesday at the hands of the real Beast of the East, the Detroit Pistons.

The Suns will win the Championship THREE years in a row because they are amazing! That is, however, if the Spurs quit paying off the referees...

The Suns can never ever compete with the Mavericks, for the one simple reason that we play defense. The Mavs are better because we actually have a C. BTW y'all has an apostrophe.
