One of my guy friends is 23 and Ive known him almost a year and this christmas I want to get him a present but I have no clue what to get him.

Hes a dj at a radio station, he likes wine, he likes sushi, hes a pretty cultured guy. I want him to really like my gift and for it to say I really thought about you when I picked this out.

Any ideas?

How will taking away assault weapons prevent or even impact any crime, when crime is committed with illegal/stolen weapons?

When you disarm the public, you make it much easier for the criminals to gain the upper hand. Are you willing to throw away your own rights to protection?

Most people cannot even define an assault weapon. It is no different in function from normal hunting rifles, only looks.

Weapons are an essential to personal defense. Had public shoppers at that Wyoming mall been armed, the death count might have just been lower. Politicians seek to ignore such facts.

I urge all of those who are not willing to hand away their personal rights of the Constitution of the United States to please sign the petition against the assault weapons ban. It is a small amount of time that you can give to say that you stood up for your rights as an American. Do not let politicians walk on you any longer.

I'm in the Army Guard and I currently attend Marion Military Institute. Im going to graduate next year and I am seriously considering going to University of Alabama which is not to far. I was going to get an apartment like every other college student but when I sat down and thought about it I realized that maybe its better to buy a house! I mean I can get a military loan for about 110,000 bucks and pay off the loan like I would be paying rent. The only difference is that I would be owning my property. Can anyone see anything wrong with my thinking?

i dated a girl for four months. we were together every day. the first two weeks were amazing for both of us. but i got scared after two weeks when i found out her ex (one month away from divorce being official) was bad mouthing her infront of the kids. i completely did a 180 and ran away emotionally. we still hung out, but she was on an emotional island and ended up sleeping with another guy and me for two months. i found out when i called the guy. the moment i found out, i freaked out on her and started threatening her custody - that i would go to her ex and that she would lose all her custody. i never meant any of it. she told me she never wants to speak to me ever again. it's been 3 months. the other guy she ran to, they didn't work out. i'm sure b/c he was just using her for sex from what i've been told. i know she has feelings for me. but her ex found out about my threatening her custody, and is now involded. they're in the middle of a custody battle. how do i win her trust back?

Is fivehundred yards really enough for a restraining order? My exhusband is restrained from comming within 500 yards of my childrens school or where I go to scjool. or worship or the place where I live. I believe he is stalking me.. Lincoln County Commissioners are trying to pass an ordinance that will limit the number of dogs per acre in Lincoln County. The new law will only allow families to have one dog for every .1 acre of land, all because of a complaint a neighbor made about an animal rescue facility located in a patch of farmland near her home. The animal rescue, Tri-County Animal Rescue, is a non-profit organization responsible for saving literally ten thousand dogs' lives in the past ten years due to their commitment to a "no-kill" policy at the facility. If this law is voted in, over half of the 600 dogs at Tri-County will have to be euthanized. Currently, ALL of the dogs located at the facility are spayed or neutered, current on all vaccines, including rabies, and are properly restrained. Some of the dogs living at the shelter are simply there to finish out their years because people will not adopt them due to their old age.

Not only will over half of the animals be euthanized, but taxpayers will have an increase in the amount of taxes they pay to have the euthanasia of all the dogs turned over to animal control performed. The county actually used taxpayers' money to perform this horrible, agonizing event. Here is an eyewitness account from the voice of a Tri-County worker:

“They take the dogs and put as many of them as they can in what they call the 'killer'. It is a chamber made of steel with a glass door that allows the workers to see inside. They literally 'stuff' as many of them into the chamber as they can. It is very crowded and many of the dogs try to reach the door so that they can see out. Now they start screaming and howling. About this time, the door is slammed shut for the last time and the chamber is sealed off. Then the hissing sound starts and the dogs' lungs start burning. They ARE aware of this and IT DOES HURT! The workers have to look through the glass at all of them to make sure that they are all dead. After this, they are placed into the back of a County truck and are hauled to the county landfill with the rest of the garbage.”

We are asking anyone and everyone to please help Tri-County Animal Rescue as well as the hundreds of other dogs that will be have to be “murdered” if this law is passed by Lincoln County Commissioners. Please help us save the lives of these beloved animals! They deserve a second chance and a life as well! The County Commissioners are voting December 17, 2007 – Please help us save the lives of our dogs!!! E-mail or call the Commissioners – even if you live anywhere other than Lincoln County, NC – even out of state! - and tell them NOT TO DO THIS!!! Every voice that speaks out can help!!!

Okay I don't know if this is a problem with everyone but I have the hardest time getting my kitchen or cleaning rags to smell good when I wash them. I wash them seperate then my clothes and towels so they don't make them stink but I don't know what to do. Is there any kind of remedie (SP) that anyone knows of.
