All spirits are liquor but not all liquor are spirits.
A spirit must be at least 35% alcohol or 60 proof and is generally low in sugar. So Hennessy is a spirit, as is vodka, gin, tequila, brandy and even rum, (which is made from sugar cane and/or molasses.)
Things like Bailey's, Kahlua, all schnapps from the US and other liquors with a higher sugar content and usually a much lower alcohol content still fall under the category of liquor, but are considered "liquers" and not spirits.
Typically younger drinkers will opt for the liquers, say like a Midori Sour which is only about 20% alcohol or 40 proof. So they would need to drink twice as much as you and your buddies who are drinking cognac, a spirit, which is 40-45% or 90 proof.

Spirits is the English term for Liquor. Anything that is classed as above about 30% alcohol by volume is a liquor or 'spirit'. Obviously this excludes beers and wines, and in some countries, the US for example, different licenses are needed to sell liquor.

The word "spirits" usually refers to distilled beverages that have a low quantity of sugar and contain at least 35% alcohol. Absinthe, gin, rum, tequila, vodka and whiskey/whisky are types of spirits.
Liqueurs typically range from 15% - 30% ABV and wines tend to range from 8% - 14% (although, fortified wines can go as high as 20% due to being "fortified" with a distilled beverage.)

Spirits. That is what you attract when you are drunk. Open a bottle and drink it and they will come.
There is a guy I know that can "see spirits". He said he quit drinking after being in a bar when he was in his 20's. What he saw scared the crap out of him and he quit. He saw a guy pass out at the bar and as soon as the guy hit the floor there was a spirit that entered his body. Sounds like fun, eh? Wouldn't you like to be a inhabited soul too?

its a spirit in a bottle, when you open it the myst energy will fly around you (ghostlike presence) and release the soul of the person stuck in that bottle, in other words, you will release the spirit, I recommend buying 3 liquires for every 1 spirit, drink at least 2 liquires before opening the 1 spirit b/c its more fun that way

It means it is fortified. Fortified means it contains a higher percent of alcohol than a wine or beer.
