Ever notice if a question is asked about the Environment or Animal Rights how many "good Christian folks" scoff at it?

Why are there fewer Environmentalists in the Religion Right than in the Liberal Left? It seems Christians believe "all this" is here for their disposal and there is no moral need to preserve it or protect it. They make fun of Environmentalists and also Animal Rights activists like PETA.

I'm just wondering WWJD?

I'm not saying ALL Atheists are environmentalists or are animal friendly. After all, the only common thread among Atheists is a belief there is no god. But, I personally know many Atheists who feel compelled to protect earth for future generations. Yet with the Christians...it seems the more religious they are, the less responsible they feel for earth and animals.

Your thoughts?

I just recently found an interest in astronomy and im looking for a telescope that will satisfy me and not leave me in regret. I want one that has great distance and a clear view. I'm currently looking at the SkyQuest XT10 Classic. If there are other telescopes in witch you think are better I would be glad to know. Thanks.

The basic fee is the agreed upon price for the product/service. If the fee is not paid there is legal recourse. Is not a late payment fee basically one side of the transaction declaring the price of the product already delivered is now greater than that agreed on. How can that be legal?

One day a woman goes into a serious operation. After surgery the woman wakes up and see that all the shades in the room are closed. When the nurse comes in the woman asked "Why the shades are drawn. Its really dark in here." The nurse replies "The surgery was a success. But there is a huge fire in the building next door and we did not want you to thinking that it failed."

the Treaty of Tripoli? I ask because anytime I bring it up to back up my point (along with other sources) THIS source is just sort of "ignored". These are the SAME men who wrote the Constition...
Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

I have be told many times by Christians that the old testament really doesn't apply anymore since Jesus came on the scene yet they whip out the old Leviticus quotes to suit their purpose. You people can't have it both ways, pick one a stay with it.
Leviticus 18:22-23 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them

This is an unscientific effort to get a "feel" for what the country is doing. I will undoubtedly vote in primaries and general elections. I also believe that the defeat of Islamic terrorism is our #1 issue. The economy is doing well, social security needs fixed and soon, healthcare needs to remain an issue for the open marketplace. Look at all the conflicts around the world and you will see Muslims involved. And YES, I believe we must fight them on their turf and prevent them from moving the battle to ours. Removing the troops brings the battle home.

I don't know a lot but Romney has me concerned - I wonder what Mormon's think of alternatives like homosexuality or Wicca? I'm hoping some Mormons will answer this. All I know is the basis for the religion (John Smith) and the multiple wives thingie... I'll keep my opinions on what I know of the background to myself until I get more first hand knowledge.

I'm looking for today's generally accepted views. We all know what the most common Christian views are on these subjects (I said COMMON - not ALL, so take a breath before you flame). But now we have a Mormon running for president - I think considering how much Bush allowed his religious views to color his actions while in office we should know more about Romney's, or at least Mormons. He's insisted on NOT discussing it so I'm a little concerned here.. what a person holds as their most sacred and deep seated beliefs most certainly DOES have an effect on what choices they make.

Thanks for any input on the actual question

I am a SAHM of a one year old. I have read a lot of articles which suggest that most SAHP do not purchase life insurance or keep skills current in the event that they must return to the workforce. These articles are written with the intent to scare ppl away from the idea of raising their own children but they obviously have a good point. I feel they are wrong in assuming ppl do not prepare, do disaster planning in order to stay at home safely, have you?
