I work at a bank and we get Christmas day off, but I want to take off on Christmas eve. Is that allowed? I know I won't get paid for the day, and I'm fine with that.

She will be 1 in 6 days. She is on the 70th percentile for weight (she weighs 21 pounds) so I am afraid she is getting too heavy for her age. My husband & I are both 5'5 so she is short, just like our other daughter, at 1 our other daughter weighed 18 pounds. Which was a little underweight. I feed her a serving of food at breakfast lunch and dinner and then also snacks, but she cries all day long and sucks her thumb like she is starving. And I don't starve her I will give her things to snack on. She also is drinking milk and juice during the day too. (she is off formula). When we go out anywhere we bring snacks and 2 drinks and she eats them and drinks them and still cries. Please help me what is going on with her? Maybe she is using food as a comfort and that is NOT a good thing is it??! Our other daughter (almost 4) does pretty much the same thing, just wants to eat allllll day long! But she is only 30 pounds so she is a little under average. Help please!?

I need to know if this is legal or not:

I live in an apt complex in MILLBRAE, CA and the owner of our building has increased our rent. Now, he has given us the adequate time frame for notification but a lot of us tenants have been asking each other if they received a letter and/or increase. A LOT of tenants have NOT received ANY notices about rent increase and do not have to pay. It seems as though the owner is picking and choosing apts he wants to increase. Here are my questions:

1) Can he pick and choose rents he wants to increase?
2) If he intends on increasing the rent, doesn't he have to notify EVERYBODY of such increase?
3) If any of the above or not legal, as a tenant, what can we do?

I need advice. I currently work part time and go to school full time. I really need extra money and I want to maybe start working full time or 35 hours a week. I really like the job I am at right now but I need extra money and they do not have the full time hours I want/need. Should I look somewhere else? I am just sick of always being broke. I just need extra cash.

Lets say I wanted to protest a ferry docking in a nearby port in Maui (the superferry)....

Why am I not allowed to carry out my peaceful protest on the dock? Oh yeah, they have closed off the area and surrounding harbor in case of "protest action and civil disobedience."

Ummm, this is censoring you guys and its against the constitution.

When is the revolution again?

Critical thinking vs Creative thinking

What prompted this question is a conversation I had with my son yesterday. I told him I thought he was more of a logical thinker than his sister. So, jokingly, he asked me if I was saying he was a better thinker. I told him that if we were to break thinking down, I would say that his sister is more of creative thinker than he is. So, he is better at thinking logically and she is better at thinking creatively.

Obviously, both have their places. I do not necessarily think one is better or more important than the other. My question is,

In what ways do you think each of these modes of thinking "enhance" or contibute to life and/or society?

I am with you on science and knowledge, like Darwin and other distinguished scientist, in their search for answers
We applaud them and need them,
But' I feel uncomfortable, that they can not explain the nature before the big bang.
Big Bang is explained as a theory, and I have no trouble and except that, But any scientist knows that matter electrons atoms what ever' can not invent itself, it can and will change but not
appear like a rabbit out of the hat,
Untill someone proves the answer to this unexplained mystery
I will believe in a supreme intelligence called GOD

My daughter's birth certificate has an error on it. It is my fault for putting off the correction. According the VA, where she was born, I first have to get a court order for name change where we live now, which is Randolph Co, NC. I've done a name change in VA and it was easy. I called the Clerk of Court here and was told they can't give legal advice, to call a lawyer. I did, he said it was easy, I didn't really need to pay him $300 when I could do it myself. I called the clerk's office back, but they won't tell me anything other than I have to post a notice for ten days. They won't even tell me what is required to be on that notice. They say that it is giving legal advice. I want to do this myself, I just need to find out what the steps and requirements are to change my daughter's name in Randolph Co, NC. The only thing I found online so far is the template for the Petition for Change of Name of a Minor. I need to know what else I have to do. Thank you for any and all assistance.

I know a Law Degree is good for Fortune 500 companies, and you have to do Med School to be a doctor, and MBAs get you into wall street. Other than that, in factoring time, cost and experience, for what fields is a Masters Degree mandatory? I'm in Politics/International Affairs, and it is something I am working on right now.
