my internet package lets me have 5gb of download per month I want to know how I can check how much I have used so I don't go over my limit

If you're on BT then you can't. They don't provide a useage monitor yet.
The best you can do is to keep a paper log of your downloaded file sizes. This information is normally clearly provided in the "download now?" window.

Don't worry though. If you exceed your allowance for one month then they'll send you an email explaining how much you exceeded by. You should be able to work out what you were doing that caused this.
They will not charge you for busting the limit once. If you do it regularly then consider upgrading your package. It may be cheaper.

Lynn, Google bitmeter, download and follow the simple insructions. Your total downloads are then displayed whenever you want to have a look. 5gb is not a great amount. depends on what you want to do

Each ISP does it differently. Call their help line and ask. They should be able to show you how to do it.
