I have a tank with 5 danio fish. I set the tank up and purchased the danio fish on 11th November 2007 (just under 3 weeks ago). They have been happy and healthy. But today I found one zebra danio dead (he was white with red patches on him) and he was stuck between two rocks at the bottom of the tank! Also found a snail this morning in the tank (I think he may have hitchhiked on the 2 small fresh plants I brought at the weekend). What do I do about the snail(s) and could it/they have killed the danio?

I just wanted some advice as I am now concerned that the rest could die and they are beautiful fish.

My son and daughter were born in another country that have conscription. 2 years for girls 3 for boys. Both did their army service (its a democratic country, not some military nutcase country) and my son is still presently completing his. I can honetly say that it makes adults out of them, they learn to go with the flow and respect others. There are no yobs hanging around and pestering (well, not many) no drunken brawls etc. The army rounds off the sharp edges and makes most loud mouthed angry teenagers realise there more to life that me me me. Those that think their children are well brought up with correct values manage better in this 'group environment' anyway as the traits that they have been brought up with only make life easier for them. What do you think? Wouldn't it give this country a boost?

With my moms permission of course. Please help.

I'll share mine with you as well....

My Father, Mother, my 2 Brother's & Myself going to Midnight Mass (in Latin), seeing our father's side of the family there.

Coming home then the family would sit-up around our Christmas tree (prob. when I was a young teenager) Enjoying some hot chocolate w/marshmellows in our cups. Having each other pick out one present for us to open before we head off to bed. Had a dog who opened his own gifts as well.

Sitting in a circle in our 70's style livingroom listening to Elvis Christmas Album (on vinal). Opening our 1 Christmas Eve present (after midnight though). Then getting curlled up in bed dreaming of the day to come.

a couple of scenarios of people ive heard of from gossip my younger brother brings home from his school. it has led to my curiosity:

if a goy child was adopted by orthodox jewish parents, and raised him jewish - for all his life, but hasnt had a bat mitvah. and he has practiced judaism and knows nothing else, is he jewish or not?

if goy parents adopt an orthodox jewish child, would they be allowed to raise it jewish. ie teach him judaism, allow him brit millah and bar mitzvah and teach him to keep kosher without being converts themselves but practising judaism? if they wanted to convert, would it be allowed?

and finally a jewish child who was adopted by goy parents, but this time the child didnt know of his jewish roots until she is older. say over the age of 21+, she knows nothing about judaism apart from basics. she wants to learn more about her culture and to learn hebrew and become a "proper" jew. how would she go about this? Could she ever learn now she is older?

My son is very emotional and can cry at the littlest thing. He doesnt share or accept that taking part in activities is fun he always wants to win although as not the most coordinated child this isnt very often. Although it is difficult to admit his behaviour can be very frustrating and I often think I love him more than anything but I dont like him and that hurts. What is more I am sure he picks up on this.I have attempted everything when he is with me to build up his confidence but nothing works. I have spoken with other children in his school and they just say he is annoying, crys at everything and tells the teacher on everyone for the littelst thing. I understand that it must be in part to do with the way I have brought him up but his younger brother is the exact opposite. Happy to take any advise but not sure which way to go. Thinking of taking him to councelling along with myself in an attempt to deal with this but wanted to know if anyone else had ideas I could try.
