Yes, in the UK. I quote "All flexible gas hose must conform to (be marked with) BS3212, and not exceed 1m in length.
Flexible hoses must be installed without stress or tight radius turns."
It's usually used behind the appliance, to connect between the solid gas pipe and the fire, cooker, whatever. Necessary because different appliances have their inlets in different places.

Correctly fitted , I'm certain it must be legal, I'm also no authority on this but I believe you will find a flexihose behind almost every gas stove in the country, otherwise you could'nt pull them out to clean

Ron is correct. If the hose was fitted professionally by a CORGI registered gas installer, it is perfectly safe.
If it is a DIY job, get yourself, your children and and pets out of the house straight away!

Hi
Not all Corgi registered dealers are honest, go with your gut feeling and get a second opinion.
We had three different corgi registered workmen to fix our central heating since last year, they have all said something different with regards to safety and legal requirements.
