Not in those exact words, but wait and see, sure, lots of times! Anticipation is making me wait....Sometimes it seems like I am always waiting for something. You Brits do have a way with words though!

Probably....I am actually just trying to remember the last time I heard someone use that expression....I think it was fairly recently! But then....I am British born and bred....so I have heard it fairly often.

my expression for that is "hide and watch"
but i have been told to "suck it up and go on"(tough it out)
