I'm very upset by stories I've heard of people bringing uninvited friends, dates, etc to a wedding. Sometimes I wonder whether they just don't understand how RSVPs work and what's appropriate for a wedding (which is a personal event to be shared only with loved ones) versus a backyard BBQ. Even very reasonable people have been known to bring unexpected and uninvited guests.

In any case, I have been toying with the idea of making my own invites and I was thinking about personalizing the RSVP cards. Essentially, I would write in the names of the invitees and just ask them to check "Attending" or "Regrets" so that there is no possibility of them being confused about the "# of Guests" line or thinking they can add more names in.

Would that come off as snooty or patronizing? Or would people just like the fact that I've simplified the process for them and not notice that it sent the subtle message that strangers were not welcome?

I'm doing debating in school, and my team is the affirmative for 'Is television better than books?' I think books are better than TV, but my teacher knows me and my friends are nerds, so she gave us this topic. So we have to do this. Sigh. Any help please?

Ever since I can remember, my parents were too old to keep up with me . Their attitude was always "Why go out and have fun when we can stay home ?" . They griped and complained every time I wanted to go to the movies, or to another town . I didn't like that, and I swore I'd never put my children through that . NOW -- if your parents are older than most, what kind of an experience was that for you ? Did your parents push themselves to keep up with you, or did you have to have to sacrifice so your parents could take it slow and easy ? Did your parents gripe and complain whenever you wanted to have fun ? Was having older parents a good or a bad experience for you ? Do you think it's okay for parents to be old ? Are there any difficulties with having older parents that I didn't mention ?

I found a little brown bug crawling between the white hairs of my cat's chin. Could this be a flea? My cat is an outdoor cat, so I know that the possibility is high.

hello.
i'm in a bit of a pickle here, because my computer just crashed, and my full library of itunes songs were lost.

my ipod still has all of the songs on it, so i would just like to know if the usb jack could transfer the songs from the ipod to the empty library. hopefully without the songs being erased from the ipod.

my brother's friend says it works, but i really don't want to take the risk without knowing, because (stupid me) i didn't back any of the songs up onto an extra disc.

pleaseeee help me.
