Ok, so do they all sound like a cheap version of ''Priscilla, queen of the desert'' or what?

Oh I absolutely hate that show.

I'm a driver myself and have nothing but respect for the job they do and the conditions they work in. I couldn't do it. Most truckers couldn't handle it.

However....the show is either edited, or the drivers have been coached, to sound like a bunch of whiny, backbiting drama queens. It's like a trucking version of the "Real World" from MTV. I bet it's not really like that, and I bet some of the featured drivers are rolling their eyes, seeing how the History Channel has actually portrayed them.

Ice road truckers are a bravest and in somecases the crasiest people around. They are the drivers who traverse the frozen lakes and rivers in Canada and Alaska prob even in Siberia. There is a certification to even drive on those roads. A regular trucker Joe like myself wouldn't be able to drive those roads. There is a technique of entering and exiting the ice so as to not create a wave underneath the ice that would break the ice at other edge. They have to know CPR and other first aid. Their trucks aren't the ones you see on the hwy either. THey have added fuel and heaters. Like the one poster said there was a feature about them on TLC
