ok... e is euler's number

(e^x + e^-x)/2 = 3

I'm not sure how to solve this... because if you added em wouldn't it be e^0 = 6... but 1 doesn't equal three... and then i can't find x

there's a hint in my book that says

[Multiply each side by e^x.]... which just confuses me more.

what im about to say is 100% true,and politically inncorrect.Here you go,do you wanna know why there so many illegal immagrants in the us,because they can make more money here,why can they make more money here,because of white people,do u know why u can get a good education,a job with benefits here,because of white people,do u know why this is the richest most powerfull country in the world,bacause of white people,white people give outher races the best chance to succeed in every category of life.I challenge any 1,but mostly black people,to come up with 1 country where u have more chances,u cant.Of course black people will say whites keep them down in this country,funny in Africa where they are all 3rd world countries,there are no white people to blame.White people have so much wealth,power,and connections not only do they own the usa but the world.And if another race was capable of doing that they would be in charge wouldnt they.

And so it begins...as one of the worried parents caught up the missing disc scandal I was looking forward to receiving the letter HMRC have been posting out to all those parents that might have been affected. A letter came though our door today from HMRC, but addressed to someone I've never heard of at this address. So I opened it after seeing something on local television about mistakes being made with the letters and sure enough, it was one of the apology letters. This person has never had anything posted to this address before, I've never heard of her in all the years I've been living here. Now I have her child's tax credit number and her national insurance number.

And if I have hers, who's to say someone doesn't have mine now????

COMPLETE AND UTTER INCOMPETENCE!!! I shall be raising this with my local MP and HMRC tomorrow because I am not a happy bunny.

I have been with my boyfriend for two years and we are very happy. We are moving in together in May and always talk about our future and how we would like to get married. But lately I have felt more strongly about it. All my friends are getting married and I feel like I'm the last one out. Yet I can't seem to find a reason why he won't purpose. i know im not depressed but im very sad right now.

i havnt been that nice to my friends lately, so i can be more loyal and a better person to my girlfriend. but a couple days ago she ditched me. so i tried calling her, and she hit the ignore button on her cell phone 3 times. then she turned off her cell phone.
she says shes sorry, but she refuses to explain why. i try and accpet the apology, but its gonna take me a few days to fully get over it inside of me. i forgive her, its just part of me inside still is sad about it.

and today i just found out that my uncle has only a month or so to live. i called my girlfriend and she cheered me up. then she said she had to go, but i later figured out she lied. she just stayed at home but decided to go onto instant messaging and chat with her friends, but she blocked me so i couldnt kno.

im really really sad. i considered killing myself, but im not going to. please help me not be sad

the problem is that my ex bf father of my kids his family still likes me the kids 4 of them call me auntie my ex's sister likes me to vist her the mom talks to me the brother and dad as well i went to their house with my kids on thanksgiving and had dinner with them the problem is that my bf says that its not right to be going over their house and spending time with them he said it's ok to let my kids see them but for me not to visit them.. should i listen to my bf or should i not???

I've seen many atheists rail against Christians (and, I presume, other theists) for intolerance. You're right to do so. Tolerance does not mean accepting someone else's beliefs, but it does mean accepting someone else's right to believe as they do. Given that, then, how do you justify all of the hate-filled, mocking, spiteful questions that are posted here by atheists?

Before you go on counterattack - yes, there are questions posed by "Christians" and other theists that are just as hate-filled. I'm specifically looking for atheist perspectives here.

And let me shut one other door: claiming it's a joke doesn't make it any less hate-filled. Trust me - I know that from personal experience, given my own prediliction to sarcasm.

I am extremely shy.
I have no friends.
I spend lunch in the bathroom stall or sometimes I go off campus and walk around the neighborhoods near the school.
Most days in class, I'll go the entire period without saying anything.
this is not my personality, therefor I cannot just accept being this person.
I used to be very outgoing and had a ton of friends.
I became depressed and isolated myself from other people. I pushed all of my friends away, some of them moved.
Now I've just forgotten how to use my voice.
PLEASE, can ANYONE give me advice on how to break out of my shell and be more outgoing???
I'm a sophmore in high school, I really don't want to waste the whole high school experience. I was like this last year.
I really appreciate it!!!!!!!

I have had a daycare in my home for 5 months now. I had a steady group of children and all seemed well. I was waiting to pursue my actual license until my youngest turned two so that I didn't have to drop one of the other two semi-toddlers, as a favor to the parents. I have taken all of the cpr & health classes, I am, trustlined with the resource center, and one of the girls whose child I care for suggested it was time I propose a standard daycare contract to protect myself financially and set some ground rules. She even told me where to go to get one and revise it. Knowing that I would be going for my license in February I decided she was probably right and a couple of parents had been having trouble paying me as well, so I figured this would be a more secure option. One parent yanked her child immediately even though I offered to make necessary changes, the other just didn't come today, but they are friends and I know she's not coming back. Can they go after me legally? I don't think

I am in the middle of a nasty divorce and I have asked my parents and my four brothers on more than one occastion to stop inviting my soon to be ex-husband and his mother to family functions. They still are doing this. Actually this past weekend 2 of my brothers actually called him to hang out with him and have all the kids get together and my parents actually took my ex mother in law out to dinner. This is a man that cheated on me as well as laid his hands on me. I guess I feel like my family doesn't care about how I feel about this at all.

I feel like telling them I will not be at the annual Christmas dinner with the family this year. I feel this way because I don't feel like my family cares about me at all. What do you think?
