Can anyone explain to me, in a physics standpoint, why there is not a falling sensation, similar to that felt on a roller coaster, when a jumper exits the plane just before terminal velocity is achieved? If at all possible I'm looking for a technical answer...college level physics answer.

I adopted a Hurricane Katrina rescue kitten from an evacuee family whose pet had kittens in their motel room. I got "Cheetoh" an orange tabby at 4 wks, he was hand fed and seemed to have a wonderful personality. By 3 mo. he showed a bit of agression, but I dismissed it to fear of strangers since I live alone. He was so loving, he would suckle on the corner of my housecoat until he went to sleep. He was 7 mos., already nuetered when he attacked me from behind. I was horrified, having to fight my darling off with a sofa cushion, and I called his name thinking he would snap too. When the attack stopped, I had been bitten over 20 times, had several deep gashes and Cheetoh was sitting in the corner with the craziest look on his face! I did have company that night, briefly- which he seemed to ignore. Shortly before the attack, I had been holding him at the front door, he had never been outside since i got him. It took 2 policemen, & 1 aspca ofcer to contain him. Did he revert back to feral?

For as long as my daughters Amanda and Mckayla have been going to school i have driven them to school. They are now 5 years old, and they have so many friends at school, and we are neighbors with some of there friends, which means they would go on the same bus. But i don't know if i want to let them on the bus, They would be with 8th graders on that bus and they will excperience hearing swear words if the 8th graders or any graders swear, they could be made fun of since there kindergartners, adn who knows they could be hurt. We live in a very nice neighborhood but the bus goes into another neighborhood. They want to go on the bus, but they are not aware of all the big kids on it. They think it will be just them and there friends. I'm not sure. Should I let them on the bus or no?

Two days ago I got in my car and the overhead light was on. (I have three overhead lights and this one has to be pushed on the right side to turn it on, and on the left side to turn it off.) Anyway I turn it off and think nothing of it.

Last night I made sure all of the lights were off before I went inside. I always lock my doors, and I am the only one with a set of keys. This morning when I go out to my car, the light is on again. I played with the switch a little to make sure it wasn't loose or broken... it wasn't.

This evening my husband and I go to papa johns to pick up a pizza. I am the first to get in the car and the light is on yet again... I explained what was happening to my husband and he said it was probably a glitch or malfunction. Anyway he goes into papa johns to get the pizza while I wait in the car. A few minutes later the switch clicks and the light turns on. There was nothing around me, and I wasn't even near it. It is turning on whether the car is on or not..

On the balance sheet of a public company , a part of the total equity is usually "paid-in capital in excess of par". What does this represent, and what does it mean?

Thanks!

This question relates to the use of 'naturals' in neutralizing sharps/flats. If i'm in the key of E minor (F# the only sharp), and come across a sharped D or C in the sheet music, how long does that sharp stick around? That is, is a natural REQUIRED to neutralize that sharp/flat? Does the D# remain a D# until a natural is registered? Or is there a general convention by which the D# goes back to just D without explicity calling the natural?

I'm obviously not a classically trained player, and I don't understand how this convention (or lack thereof) is used.

Thanks in advance.

Note: If what I said doesn't make any sense, think of this;
a simple 3-tone progression in Eminor:
scored as D#-E-D;
Is the third tone also sharped since it lacks the natural? Or does it revert by some convention?

Hi,

My g/f has recently become sick (mental illness) due to being messed around by an employer. Promised a quick promotion that didnt happen. She found fraud in their books & was sacked unfairly on the spot. She has since become ill because of this & had a breakdown. The issue is that she is now out of work and I (her partner) have put in claims for incapacity & housing benefit on her behalf. I am not working & I am looking after her on home treatment after being in hospital for 5weeks. Incapacity and Housing benefit have not paid out for the past 6 weeks because they are waiting for SSP1 from the ex employer? They have been contacted but dont seem to be bothered to sort it out? They are also withholding her p45 and wageslips. We have contacted them but it appears futile. If this continues we will both be homeless because of these people. I am tempted to go down to them and kick off because ive had enough! Can anyone advise on the best way forward. we are in the UK. Cheers.

... and The Cashier 'Plops' Your Change Onto The Counter Instead Of Placing It Into Your Outstretched Hands?!

Now I understand why the lady who I was waiting behind in the check-out line a few months ago felt. Her response of, "Do you mind handing me my change back ... I was courteous enough to give you my payment in your hand"? was met with a very flustered teller picking up the money and giving it to her. The woman was not rude in any way, and even told her that she was not trying to be ugly, but I could tell that the teller thought that she had made a huge mountain out of a molehill. I felt a little bad for her then ... but now that it's happened to me, I feel that a little consideration is called for. Number one - it takes precious time to pick up all of your coins from the counter, and Number 2 - it's just common courtesy. I'm sure the cashier/teller would not appreciate it if I were to just 'smack' my payment down on the counter instead of into his/her outstretched hand!!
