I'm confused. I'm insulin resistant, but have been told to try Stevia. I looked it up, and supposedly it does not raise blood glucose levels, but rather lowers them because it stimulates insulin secretion. But I thought that one of the problems I was having (I have PCOS) is that the level of insulin in my blood is too high, therefore causing some wonky hormone reactions. Is there some sciency person out there who can tell me why Stevia is supposedly good for diabetics and other insulin challenged folks? Is it only good for diabetics but not insulin resistant people?

The book of Mormon just changed. Before anybody says it was ones persons opinion its something that the church has been teaching for decades. This is what I was taught before I was baptized. Here is the change.

"After thousands of years, all were destroyed except the Lamanites, and they are the principal ancestors of the American Indians."

The new BOM will state this….

"After thousands of years, all were destroyed except the Lamanites, and they are among the ancestors of the American Indians."

What does this change? Everything every missionary has taught. For the first time the LDS church is quietly agreeing they were not in America first. They are admitting others were here first. They just joined in.

What does it mean? I don’t know. What does it mean to you? Why did they just change it without any announcement to a major change in how we were taught to believe, they just had General Conference. Why did the publisher know before the members?

I know it sounds silly but when I was younger I had my own little corner of the world where I used to go and just chill out and think about life and where I was going in the grand scheme of things.

I could probably talk all night on this subject, won't bore ya!!

Hi. I met a girl recently, or she met me, rather, on the net. We are about 3 years apart but she is just the most amazing girl I've ever met...or so she seems to be online. Anyway, for the past 5 weeks we've been inseparable over the computer. Everyday I come home and go online she's waiting there to talk with me, so we do for hours and hours into the next morning. We care about eachother a lot and it's a pretty intense thing we have going right now, in every sense of the words. It's not a sex thing, but from what she's displayed to me online, I do genuinely care for her a lot. I live in Maine and she lives in Vermont, about a 4-hour drive away, making this difficult to carry over into real life.

She said sh wouldn't want to date because of the distance, but if we were closer she would, in a heartbeat. I know she really cares about me too, but what should I do? I know I've already gotten too close to just walk away. I told myself I wouldn't but it just snuck up on me.

Help!

in innovating alternative fuels and have not been dependant on oil for over 10 years if it isn't for the fact that oil companies run our country and our wonderful politicians let them? Shouldn't we be forerunners in innovation, we used to be, it's like we are in a 3rd world country and don't know any better. Wake up!

In the circulatory system of an osteichtyes (bony fish), the heart only pumps deoxygenated blood, so how does the heart get its oxygen? Or does it function without it? How does that work?

So I handed in a take home midterm today. It was due Tuesday and I've had the flu for about a week now. I will admit I procrastinated with it a bit, well I was half way done by Sunday, when I had the flu really bad. It still here today, but I weakly finished it and sent my bro to hand it in for me. I went back to my parents house who do not have internet from monday and am now back at my place. I handed it in with a doctors note and now that I'm better and shitting my pants, because I handed it in 3 days late, however I added a note. What is the worst case scenario that could happen to me. I've never had to do this, and now I'm freaking out! (It's worth 30% of my final grade, and I already have 29.5 out of 30 so far in the course!

In a nutshell, we are Christians, with the same bible as "other" Christians. (We use the King James version). However, we believe that Jesus also took His ministry to the American continent after His resurrection. The record of that is in the Book Of Mormon (where our nickname comes from). It does not replace the Bible - it enforces and testifies of the truth of the Bible in fact.
We also believe that His gospel is still alive today - in it's fullness, with prophets and the priesthood and revelation, but that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, in His principles and laws.
We also believe in the Eternities and that families are eternal.
Obviously, a religion cannot be explained in a few words.
I am not going to go on the defensive about issues people have with us. We have many millions of members worldwide - we all have a testimony of the Gospel and of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost as 3 separate beings.
What do you think of Mormonism?
