if there are people around and it was audible, I say sorry. Not needed if I am alone or in the bathroom at the time. If I can let it go silently, I try to leave the area without much fuss or being noticed.

I say excuse me if I'm around people and they could hear it. If they can't hear it, then I don't say excuse me. I just try to pretend it wasn't me.
If I'm only around one person, then I do. They know it's me anyways.

my husband blames it on squeaky floor, squeaky chair, squeaky shoes...he even tried to blame the bird!! lol
depends on where i am or who i'm with...i try with all my might NOT to do it if i'm with people!!
