In a nutshell, we are Christians, with the same bible as "other" Christians. (We use the King James version). However, we believe that Jesus also took His ministry to the American continent after His resurrection. The record of that is in the Book Of Mormon (where our nickname comes from). It does not replace the Bible - it enforces and testifies of the truth of the Bible in fact.
We also believe that His gospel is still alive today - in it's fullness, with prophets and the priesthood and revelation, but that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, in His principles and laws.
We also believe in the Eternities and that families are eternal.
Obviously, a religion cannot be explained in a few words.
I am not going to go on the defensive about issues people have with us. We have many millions of members worldwide - we all have a testimony of the Gospel and of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost as 3 separate beings.
What do you think of Mormonism?

We do believe that Jesus is alive today. And that He is God, along with His Father in Heaven.
We do not change scripture - we use a translated version that has not been interpreted and rewriten by men as they understand it.
We are definitely NOT a cult. Look up the meaning of cult and then investigate us a little deeper.

I think I would be lost, not only in this mortal realm, but also for all eternity if it weren't for my fledgeling understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I am profoundly grateful for my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I thank God every day for a prophet of God.

chris, cheir & snoot are so foreign to me...such hate for our Lord & Savior. Jesus the Christ did miraculous feats of love & sacrifice for us. More than can fill all the volumes of print. The act of Atonement is possible for deity only, yet it was the point of Baptism that Jesus reached His fullness in His Fathers Glory. Jesus' fullness in His Father's[GOD] Glory will always grow. All of us are eternal. While you are bashing people look up eternal, secular Christians will be surprised at the meaning if they would look it up, but won't because you think you already know. All of us have no beginning and no end. All of us will ALWAYS be growing closer to GOD or away from GOD.
Jesus Created this World with counsel from GOD His Father. Jesus Created everything in it including us with counsel from GOD. Jesus was born mortal, acheived the power to become eternal, fullfilled the eternal laws & atonement. All these are steps to become the GOD that He is. He has a Father we call Heavenly Father or GOD. We call Jesus - Jesus.

The LDS church believes that Jesus and Satan were the only 2 sons of Elohim who lives on the planet or (star) called Kolob. The bible says that Jesus is God's only begotten son. It doesn't sound like they follow the bible to me. Galatians also says that you should not accept any doctrine from angels. Moroni was an angel who gave the plates to Mormon.

Mormonism is not considered Christian in its beliefs, but a cult. According to the Bible, Christians believe in the holy trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are one in the same. Jesus is God, Mormons say he was prophet. The Book of Mormons, is misleading because it takes away from the word of God. Why isn't Moroni mentioned in the Bible. Some scholars believe Maroni was a demon dressed as an angel. What I think about those millions of members worldwide is that they will come to know the Lord Jesus and know he is the truth and the way. No one can come to the father but through Jesus.

Mormonism is awesome; it is the only religion that gets it right when it comes to the true nature of Christ. No one else follows the Bible. In the Bible, James said that "faith without works is dead." Christians outside of Mormonism tend to ignore that little tidbit.

I think it was founded by a guy who wanted to get laid by 20 or more gullible women, and went to great lengths to do it. Check the link. It lists the women.
Mormonism today has transcended those humble beginnings... except for the FLDS sect.

Mormonism is a cult and is not Christian. Mormonism teaches works for salvation, which is a false gospel that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1).
Mormons have another jesus that isn't the true Jesus, as Paul said in 2 Corinthians. In the Bible, Jesus is God. Mormons reject this truth.
Mormons added their readings which are not from God.
Mormonism leads to eternal hell.

But you don't believe what true Christians believe - that Christ resurrected from the dead, is alive today, and is God.
