I just got a new laptop this summer before going to college, a HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC with Windows Vista. Anyway, it came with a free, limited use (60 day, maybe?) version of Microsoft Office, including Word. Anyway, it warned me that after October 31st it would go to a limited-use version that was only a viewer. So, I uninstalled it and installed a full copy of Microsoft Office, in this case a 2002 version according to the About file.

Now, with my Word 2007 program, I mostly saved documents in the 97-2003 format. However, I saved 12 documents in Word 2007's default "DOCX File" format. Well, turns out those aren't backwards compatable. Word 2002 won't read them, and Notebook and Wordpad just give gobiltygook when I try to open it with them.

So, is there any way I could convert the files to an earlier version of word, or open them with something and copy the text to a Word 2002 document?

A man is strolling past the mental hospital and suddenly remembers an important meeting.

Unfortunately, his watch has stopped, and he cannot tell if he is late or not. Then, he notices a patient similarly strolling about within the hospital fence.

Calling out to the patient, the man says, "Pardon me, sir, but do you have the time?"

The patient calls back, "One moment!" and throws himself upon the ground, pulling out a short stick as he does. He pushes the stick into the ground, and, pulling out a carpenter's level, assures himself that the stick is vertical.

With a compass, the patient locates north and with a steel ruler, measures the precise length of the shadow cast by the stick.

Withdrawing a slide rule from his pocket, the patient calculates rapidly, then swiftly packs up all his tools and turns back to the pedestrian, saying, "It is now precisely 3:29 pm, provided today is August 16th, which I believe it is."

The man can't help but be impressed by this demonstration, and sets his watch accordingly.

Before he leaves, he says to the patient, "That was really quite remarkable, but tell me, what do you do on a cloudy day, or at night, when the stick casts no shadow?" The patient holds up his wrist and says, "I suppose I'd just look at my watch."

I know this one girl that tells me my younger sister is more "sophisticated" then me, she keeps saying it over and over too! I get kind of offended when she says that, but I could be an over reactive-nitpicky person. Do you think its an insult for someone to say that to your face?

Let X be a continuous random variable with density
f(x) = csinx for x ε (0,π) and f(x) = 0 elsewhere.

Compute c.

I am 22 years old. For a couple of months I have had numbness, pain (lots of it), and pins and needles feeling in my hands, wrists, and arms. All of my fingers or half or one will hurt and/or feel pain or pins and needles. Sometimes the pain occurs at the same time in as the other or only on one. Sometimes the pain feels like a band tightly wrapped around the arm. Sometimes I get a creepy, crawly feeling on the same spot on the middle back. I get stabbing pains in my toes.

I have been constipated and have been doing careless things at work. Last night at work I left my till open and walked away, didn't realizing it till my manager remarked on it. I have been having bad headaches and nasuea.

I have an appointment with a neurologist on Monday. This whole time has been debilitating for I am no longer able to do my former job. I am on light duty. Could it be a pinched nerve in my wrist? Does anyone have any suggestions on what this all could be?

If I make a sword, practice with a sword, then kill someone with a sword, the violence clearly did not come from the sword.

So if man makes Religion, practices with it, then uses it to justify a war, isn't blaming the war on Religion equally absurd?

Are Atheistic societies ANY less prone to violence?

Seems to be, Feminism has long been interested in challenging stereotypes, arguing that women shouldn't feel forced to conform to society's standards regarding what a woman SHOULD be, if she doesn't feel it fits with who she really is.

But from what I see from people on this forum who consider themselves "masculists," men who defy gender stereotypes are considered "feminized" or "brainwashed." Are there masculists who are interested in defying stereotypes of what it means to eb a male in western society? How do you feel about men who behave in what might be considered more "feminine" ways? And if masculism doesn't have much tolerance for, or think too highly of traditionally "feminine" characteristics in men, is it really that liberating? Or is it more confining?
