I want to know of any Australian or British bands. I don't want like hard rock or metal. Just indie, alternative, folk, pop, rock, stuff like that.

So this is probably the weirdest question I've asked...but...

My man appreciates a clean, tidy house and I like to do that for him, but one of the things that makes are place "chaotic" is his desk area. I'd like to clean the area, but I don't want to rearrange his stuff to the point where he can't find it....

... and normally I'd ask him, but he'll just say "oh don't worry about it."

So my question is this, as someone who does this professionally for other people...what do you do to make a desk area neat and clean without "disorganizing" the person's chaos... we're talking piles on the floor, around the desk, under, on... etc

HELP!? :)

I'm guilty of this. I grew up in the bluest city in the bluest state in the US. I went to the second most liberal college in America, no one in my line of work votes Republican, and I've had semi-meaningful conversations with no more than 20 conservatives in my lifetime. My girlfriend's parents are rabid Bush supporters, but I've never met them, and they have little interest in talking to me.

Is my story typical? I get the sense from Yahoo Answers that it's become too easy to demonize the other side--to just get into a big circle jerk with the people on your side.

I think Bush is a dangerously incompetent president, but I wouldn't dare compare him to Hitler like some folks on this site. But I'm also mystified at folks who characterize liberals like me as some sort of immoral, baby-murdering fifth column.

What the hell is wrong with us?

Her b-day is next week, we have a party planned at the local High School pool, and she passed out invitations today. She got home from school told me her invitations were "all wrong", which they are not, and ran upstairs to her room, barricaded the door, and hid in her closet. When I went to ask her what was wrong, she just repeated her invitiations "are all wrong". (They were fine yesterday when WE printed them up). I asked her what happened, if anything, at school today, if she is feeling alright, if somebody teased her about the party....

She actually had a complete meltdown. I have never seen her like this. Told me she wouldn't go to her party, I can't make her.... this is not my daughter. She is a great child, never any trouble, I can't seem to get anything out of her as to why this has upset her so much, other than "they are all wrong".

Any other suggestions??

I looked at the previous answers and they directed you to gmap.com to measure the blocks "you" are talking about. That site doesn't work anymore so where else can I measure my blocks?

I have been paying for life insurance for a few years now and I am convinced that I shouldn't be. I do not have any children or plan on any in the next few years. My father says it is so I am locked into a premium. Does that really matter?

My child has ADHD and language pragmatic problems. He is very high-maintenance. I love him to pieces, but he drives me up a wall sometimes. I've been to 12 doctors in the last 4 years, most the same, but some very different diagnosis. He has been on 4 different medications: Ridaline - caused severe stomach aches, no eating or sleeping. Aderal - worked for a year, then completely stopped working. Statura - made him completely angry and depressed. Finally Concerta - been on it for 3 years and they can't give him a higher dose for his age and weight. I'm running out of options. What do I do next??? PLEASE HELP!!!
